Amusingly, my daughter loves the '80s. She likes the fashion, music, and hairstyles more than I did when I was living it. LOL! We periodically have '80s movie night. That's fun. :)
The 80s was its own special kind of crazy, but the movies and music weren't cranked out in corporate cookie cutter lines like so much of today's stuff. So the 80s is more authentic.

I won't go so far as to call Ryan Coogler's Sinners a masterpiece (though it's damn close), but it's as good a film as you're likely to see anytime soon. Far removed from the various IP properties being foisted on us, this is a film that is just as interested in saying something about our society as it is about making money. It's weaknesses are in its ambition--the film has 15 pounds of ideas crammed into a 10 pound film.

But damn, what a ride it is.

My favorite movie ever. Saw it at way too young if an age. I was about 4 or 5. It did not make me afraid of the ocean. I can quote Quint's Indianapolis speech verbatim while doing a very bad impression of Robert Shaw.

I wanted to be a marine biologist at one point. Then discovered they have to rely on a lot of grants and most were rich before they studied it.

Last night while working on sorting motorcycle parts I watched "Equalizer 3" again. It aired on cable - FX. They showed it a 2nd time and I enjoyed it so much earlier, I watched it a second time.

I had seen the movie before. Not long after it was aired on cable. But you know sometime after some time has gone by and you see a movie again - you get to focus on more of the little things going on - stuff you may have glossed over the first time.

I may even like it better than the first two Equalizers. Hard to say and a good debate to have with one's self! :D
