With inexact science, Saban tries to make recruiting exact
In a conference room in the football wing of the Mal Moore Administration Building, there is a board with roughly 200 prospect names scribbled in magic marker.
The process of getting those names starts by compiling tapes. Through visits to high schools, assistants discover prospects. Or, players send in their own tapes.
To help, Alabama employs the use of at least three recruiting services. The main source is XOS Recruiting and Scouting, which produces thousands of recruiting tapes.
