Considering the upper echelon of Football, we all know the big three. Florida, Texas, and California. My question is, with the continuing dominance of Alabama programs, (Alabama, Auburn, Jax State over Ole Sis, even USA) could Alabama be thrown into the same category of the other three states?

So instead of being the Big Three, it could be the Big 4?

Or am I just a homer?

Lol.

I know for a fact they don't take football serious in Oklahoma, aside from Sooner fans, everyone else just likes it, Saturdays are not a holiday like they are back home :)

Well, rivals seems to think so.

It's just high school.. But the bulk of all these programs kids are from Instate. So our high school athletes are on par with Cali, Tex, and Florida correct?

lol maybe so .. but those are known for producing the most talent out of the state. Perhaps we could be known as the National Championship State.

I do admit I kinda take a skewed since of pride that Alabama and Auburn are in the top 10. Two team from Alabama that's kinda cool. Now to get Auburn out of the top 10.

Yeah, I think they when those three states are mentioned as "the big three", it refers to the recruiting talent that resides within those states. Not necessarily the teams that those state schools produce.

And it has as much to do with population as it does quality of high school football. The 5a and 6a schools in AL produce a lot of D1 talent with a smattering coming from the lower ranked high schools.

I bet if you did a %population survey of talent, then Alabama would rank pretty high, though just guessing. Have never actually seen numbers based on %.

In terms of recruiting, California, Texas, and Florida are going to remain at the top because of their populations. The state of Alabama does well for itself, considering that it's one-fourth of the size of those states, relative to population. Unless there's a massive population boom, for whatever reason, the state has its limitations, as recruiting is limited to population size, among other factors.

I've said forever that it would be great if both Bama and Auburn were undefeated every year going into the Iron Bowl.

It brings great publicity to the State of Alabama, it makes the Iron Bowl a nationwide spectacle, and it proves that Alabama is the greatest college football state in America.

It's kinda like our pre-game video.

We say "At Alabama We Live It"...

But in reality it could easily be...."IN Alabama ....we live it"

That's nothing but a positive.

Plus, contrary to popular belief.....lol...if Auburn is indeed good or great, and we beat them, it helps us a whole lot more in the national rankings than if they're average or below.

I'd hate to finish third, by a half a point, in the final BCS Standings because Auburn loses to Georgia rather than being undefeated when we play them.

In a way....a loss, by them in that game, would cost us a chance to play for the National Title because they'd lose their number one ranking.

I don't want them to control our destiny. So bring them in undefeated.

sip
