Rather than starting individual threads for each, I've started an "umbrella" thread for us to discuss the offensive side of things for our thoughts (both good and bad) on Tommy Rees now that our offense has turned a corner, thoughts on Ty Simpon's future at Bama, seeing that when he got in the game against Kentucky he looked A LOT more poised and comfortable, and what the future looks like for our offense under Rees. Let's hear it!

Rees has improved dramatically. Incorporating Milroe's legs and motion into the offense was long overdue. Regarding Simpson, I hate to say it, but I think he transfers after this year. And I REALLY hate it because he looks like he's a gamer to me.

I think the off week really helped Rees and Milroe. One of the Josh Pate videos, he mentioned when he ran into Rees he asked Rees how things were looking and Rees responded with he thought the off week helped them figure some things out.

Simpson, he won't be here next year. He's gonna be a really good QB on whatever team he's playing for next year. I hate this one too, he looked good against UK.

With Sayin coming in, Milroe having a year of starts, and Simpson likely transferring......I assume Milroe will start in 2024, with Sayin sitting a year.

When is Ryan Williams coming in? Isn't he part of the 2025 class?

My question about Ty Simpson has revolved around the possibility of him having a red shirt year. Is that possible if he appears in only four games this year? To me that adds something to the potential of him staying and getting much more playing time next year which would obviously be Milroe's final season provided he waits that long.

It is pretty clear that CNS or Sark for that matter aren't going to put a freshman on the field (Sayin and Manning) regardless of their pedigree.

Impossible to know where his Dad and CNS are on Ty's future and the potential suitors who may be out there.

I would hate to see this kid go after gaining so much knowledge, strength and maturity at Bama.

There’s no reason to think that Simpson wouldn’t improve the same way Milroe has. I do believe Milroe’s ceiling is higher as far as dynamic playmaking ability, but that’s not to say that Simpson couldn’t be very successful with his arm talent and elusiveness he’s displayed at times this year.

I defaulted to Simpson simply because he was further along as a passer, which I feel is of utmost importance to keep the playmakers on the outside happy. I had visions of the Hurt’s mutiny dancing in my head if Milroe continued on his trajectory.

Regarding Rees I’ll say once again that he certainly looks a whole lot smarter when the players are executing the plays. Only those in the building know why he started calling more designed quarterback runs. I’ll throw a conspiracy out there: Milroe wanted to show he was NFL ready by hanging in the pocket and throwing almost exclusively from there. He’s since been convinced that his running ability has value in the NFL and has began to display it. Maybe he comes back next year, but I could see an NFL team that loves his potential simply on the growth he’s had this year while still enrolled in college. How much more could he grow if he was 24/7 football?

As far as other positions.....

WR - Burton gone / Brooks transfer? / (Bond / Benson / Law top 3?) Prentice and Hale up there too.

RB - Jase and Roydell gone / Jam and Justice take over.

OL - Latham draft? / Seth gone.

On Milroe I think Jordan Rogers said Saturday Rees went to Milroe and asked him what he was comfortable doing and he took some plays out of the offense, that's saying a lot about Tommy Rees, on Ty I hope he stays I've been in his corner since day one and seeing him play in highschool he is a gamer and will be a very good QB somewhere hopefully here

The story of this season has been Jalen Milroe and has been since the preseason. Everyone expected Simpson to take the reigns at some point but especially after the froghorn loss. Then that debacle in South Florida and suddenly, everyone is down on the Tide. Posters on this board were predicting 3 and 4 losses on the season and the legacy media dropped us out of the top 10. Suddenly, Milroe's game started improving and won some games but everyone is still sleeping on us. Good! Jalen could very well lead us to a National Championship and when he does it is going to be sweet redemption. Sayin will come in and be a backup to him after a slew of transfers in the offseason. What a ride so far man, just hope Milroe stays healthy and continues to improve. Ditto for our OC.

I think this is the first year any of our QBs have received any viable coaching. I think Rees has done an admirable job in developing the talent of both Milroe and Simpson. I don't know why it took so long to modify the playbook to make the most of Milroe's talents - whether that was resistance from Milroe or Saban - but I think Rees has been pushing for this since the game against South Florida. With another year of coaching, Milroe could be a very good QB with a chance for being drafted in the NFL.

Unfortunately, I think Simpson transfers to a school where he can get immediate playing time. He will be a good QB for someone. I just hope it's not UT. I think he would have a lot of success in Heupel's offense.

I think the biggest positive is there is basically no way we have a QB issue next year. We are guaranteed to have good QB play. I'd put money on it being Milroe but crazy things have happened before so who knows at this point. And if that is the case Ty is probably gone. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the other guys transfer too.

I do think Rees has finally figured some things out. Using some jet sweeps, having Law lined up in the backfield, and more designed Milroe runs have all been big for us.

I've said this a few times but I have to think that Rees being a former QB at a place like Notre Dame must be big for our QBs development.

while Seth is listed as a Sr, he only played in one game in 20, so that could be a redshirt year or could use that as the COVID year and give him another year. Now that it seems he's fixed the snap issues, it wouldn't be a bad thing for him to come back.

Jase and Roydell could in theory use 20 as a COVID year, but I don't know that they're going to really improve their stock, and would likely lose reps to Jam, Justice and even Law with his expanded flex role

I don't see Milroe leaving after this season, not when he can stay another year, assuming Rees stays as well, and he literally is the top Heisman candidate going into next season. He could position himself as a top-five pick in the draft if he stays.
I'm sure both Saban and Rees will advise Milroe to come back next year. He needs another year of coaching before he'll be ready for the NFL. I'm not sure he would even get drafted this year. He has improved immensely this year, but he has a long way to go before he's ready to play at the next level.

Y'all are forgetting UT has the next best thing waiting in the wing's the 6 million dollar man, don't think Ty would go there if he leaves
