Let me ask a question. As I go through what other teams are doing in the SEC recruiting wise it seems that most of the teams are focused on linemen, particularly D linmen. Now I know you recruit for need and there are all kinds of strats out there like CMS who likes 1 QB a year and all. My question is why havent we recruited a single D lineman? I know we have a few coming back and Fanny and Lo Washington coming in but we will still be thin. IF Dline and I suppose one QB what we are focusing on the rest of this year. We are recruiting them, but we haven't gotten commitments.
Craig Marshall, Jermarcus Ricks, Deantwan Whitehead, Milton Talbert, Kentrell Lockett, and Ugo Chinasa are all possibilities, some more than others.
I expect we get at least two from this list, hopefully more.

I am sorry. I knew we were recruiting them. My fault. I suppose I was shocked when I saw barn, and LSU and so forth with D limen committted and none yet for Bama. Who do we really have the best shot at? thanks

I think we have a legitimate to good shot at all the guys on that list. We aren't planning to bring in more than two or three d-linemen in this class, so there really isn't much to be concerned about at this point. We look really good with Talbert and Lockett right now. Goggans and Whitehead, I'm not sure anyone knows what is going on with those guys. Ricks is a Bama/Auburn battle. He loves Bama, his family loves Auburn. Who will win out? Marshall is probably a "B list" guy for us. Ugo Chinasa is another big DE prospect from Texas that has us as his #2 right now behind OK State. He would be a coup for Shula to snag, as his family seems most comfortable with the Cowboys. Hope this helps.

it'll come down to who has committed and when.....

for example, I think Lockett will choose Bama over OM....but he doesn't visit OM until the 20th.....will Goggans, Ricks, Talbert, Whitehead, etc inform the staff of their intentions by then?

It's become a very complex little web.

Ugo is down to three. His slight favorite OSU, along with Alabama and Baylor.
