Actually, if he did block the LSU player in the back...given the inside position, he would have blocked the LSU player into Julio. As it was, the LSU player got beat to the outside.

Verne, he was 20 yards past everyone and accelerating. He has a chance to beat them all to The Supe Store and then NorthRiver Yacht Club. Verne never fails to make you wonder what game he is actually watching.

IMO, LSU fans center their attention on Alabama, and always have. Then, they will focus on one idea regarding the current Bama-LSU situation, and let that symbolize their obsessive fascination regarding the rivalry.

Currently, they are focused on the Patrick Peterson-Julio Jones match-up. Julio symbolizes in their corporate mind the big bugaboo that Alabama has presented to them over the years, and Patrick (Superman) Peterson symbolizes their ability to deal with that bugaboo.

I guarantee you that there are thousands of LSU fans fantasizing that Peterson is going to intercept two or three passes intended for Julio, and that this is going to highlight LSU's win over Alabama this year in Tiger Stadium. This will in turn propel LSU to the SEC West championship, the SEC championship, and the National Championship.

The good news is we are bringing several bugaboos with us this year and will completely overmatch their entire team. The receiving game won't just be Julio, the rushing game won't just be Ingram, and the passing game might not just be McElroy. Not like that wouldn't be enough to beat most teams.

On the defensive side, we all saw what happened to Jefferson when he faced immense pressure/contact and we already know what Lee will do in the face of pressure. If we can shut down their rushing game and come after Jefferson the majority of the time, then we should control this game fairly easily.

Call me crazy but I see this LSU game being an epic beating similar to the 1994 game that I was present for, if only physically.
