Every year at this time I get very excited about the start of football season. My wife hates it because saturday is taking for the games I watch. She enjoys going to the games but watching them on tv is no fun to her. The good thing is after twenty plus years of marriage she has finally quit giving me a hard time about it. Thank God for that. Roll Tide!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

My wife has now gave in to the fact that for six months out of the year I'm watching football and I get very excited about watching it. I get very depressed when the season is over. I explained to her it is the perfect compromise. She gets six months without football and she gets her interaction with me. Then I get six months of football and I get six months break from interacting with her. Fifty/Fifty split. I don't see how anyone could complain. :)

This is like deja vu for me. She doesn't even want me to watch the SEC replays on the CBS college network. She only has a few days left and she wants them to be completely football free.

And she is that same way about going to the games or watching on tv. I think part of it is she is a former band geek and she loves to be there in person to really get to listen to the band and see them march during pregame and halftime. :)

It's always amazed me how **most** wives get all cranky about the start of football season. I mean, it's not like they don't have 352 of the 365 days of the year.

I've yet to understand why most women can't understand that men just need "man time". That time that we sit and vegetate, stare at the tv, walk back and forth during commercials to the kitchen refilling any needed beverages or snacks, grunt, scratch and not have to make any decisions that really are of any importance. Why is that too much to ask?

Hey, we're not all that way. I love football as much as any of you. I don't think my husband fully appreciates that.

Y'all married the wrong gals! I'm still convinced the reason my husband married me was because he walked in one day when we were dating and I was watching the NFL draft.

I'd have to say I'm pretty lucky myself. When my wife and I first started out, she wasn't into football at all. Then I started explaining to her about how things worked. She caught on pretty well and now enjoys watching Bama games with me. She still doesn't get into other games as much but loves Bama. :)

Why would you marry someone who felt that way???:conf2: Stop complaining, you picked her.;)

My wife is a huge football fan raised on Chicago Bears football games every Sunday at Soldier Field. I could never have imagined being with someone who hates football, but that's me.:)
