I was looking at a bunch of different scenarios for the last week of the season and I think we are a 2 or 3 seed for the SEC tournament no matter what happens.
3 seed likely if we win our first game in the SECT. Lunardi has us 10 overall. Bracket matrix has us first 4 but Gonzaga is last 3 with same score. WAB is 8. 3 looks legit.
How on Earth is an 16-15 barn still in it?
The problem is that Gonzaga has a fairly easy path to a conference tournament championship.
At least they play a tough OOC schedule unlike their counterpart in the conference St. Mary's. Occasionally they beat the zags and for some reason people elevate them to high rankings. I don't get it.
I am just saying if we are in a race with them for the last 3 seed, they are in a great position because they have an easy path in the conference tournament.
And they beat us head to head. They do have one of their stars, Huff, who has been out for a while with injury. He killed us, and I'm not sure when he's going to return.
It use to be the discussion this time of year was mostly about seeding and how it might change in the respective conference tournaments. Now it is about which teams should be in based on “quality losses”. Really? I mean I understand the value of scheduling quality opponents. But Auburn hovering at .500 with “not so quality losses” at the end of the season to Ole Miss and Mississippi State should have them clearly on the outside.
And we have people calling for expanding the Tournament? Why? So we can nitpick more “quality losses” among .500 teams?
I feel like we still would have to win one game in the SEC tournament. And play a competitive game against Arky. If Gonzaga wins tonight I think we have to beat Arky.

Lunardi still has us as a 3 seed even after Gonzaga's win last night. We might stay there as long as we win Friday. A Saturday win would pretty much guarantee it. Then a with Sunday, who knows?
