Not sure if anyone has purchased the book "Touchdown Alexander" or not. I got it for my wife the bookworm for Christmas. I thumbed through it and read a few snippets. One that I found truly hilarious is his telling of the 291 yds against LSU performance. He and Montoya Madden stayed up playing a video game all night the night before "because they weren't going to get to play". Come game time Shaun put on his practice cleats instead of the game cleats, and didn't put on all the pads to his shoulder pads. Truly a funny read. After doing so, I decided to put the tape I had of that game onto DVD and watched it. Truly an awesome performance. He was untouchable in a game that Bama couldn't get any offense going in. After that game I decided to put the BYU game on DVD in which he scored 5 TD's. In that broadcast the announcers talked about Shaun and how he thanked ESPN for getting into the game at LSU cause had they not went to a TV timeout, Ivy Williams wasn't sending Shaun in. The TV timeout gave him time to rethink it. Shaun also mentions this in his book. Going back and watching those, I didn't realize what a talent he truly was.

I remember watching that LSU game in a bar in Montgomery and watching the BYU game in a bar in Mobile. I am noticing a trend.

Is this a football book or a "churchy" book? Or a little of both?

Both...but you get to see Shaun off the field and behind the facemask. With that said, I haven't read the whole thing, just snippets. I'm not a reader. But I may read this one if the whole book is as good as the parts I've read. One section talks about a recruiting trip to noter dame (misspelling intentional out of complete disrespect) when Lou Holtz told the group of recruits that if they all signed with ND they would win a NC for 4 years straight. Once Shaun names the people in the room, it was highly likely Lou was right.

Great book. It inspired me. Shaun says that Alabama people were the only folks to invite him to church during all his recruiting trips. So it appears those "churchy" people are probably responsible for him playing at Alabama.
