This is getting crazy where starting QBs of major programs are entering the transfer portal. Where does this end? At some point there needs to be some really well thought out rules around NIL and transfers, but I have no idea who is going to do it, because it's clearly not something the NCAA is going to do or even probably capable of.

I am hoping like crazy that Cam Ward ends up at Ohio State now that they have an opening. I don't want him at Auburn.

They need to at the very least shut down this early “jump” period - it’s ruining the bowl games and it’s not necessary. Coinciding with the early signing period just makes a hectic situation incredibly messy.

Most of them aren’t good enough to actually justify increasing whatever NIL bucks they are getting now - unless they aren’t getting any, in which case I guess anything would be an improvement.

Free agency without some limiting factor like a salary cap is not going to work long term. Employment law used to open up NLI. but competitive leagues are allowed to set up limits to maintain competitive integrity. The NCAA died a slow death and plus they could care less. The school themselves will eventually have to meet and agree to some sort of limiting factor that doesn't run afoul of the laws that were used to open up NIL. But between now and then you're going to see some of the most ridiculous crap imaginable.
