These players leaving did nothing more than galvanize those players who have chosen to stay and my guess is the new coaching staffs senses that and will use that as locker room/weight room reminders to get them to work harder.
In all seriousness, I think we were a little too big up front last year. It’s hard to pass pro against a lot of these fast and very athletic d line and edge personnel.Last weight I saw was 278. I believe it was an announcer during the Texas game that said he makes up for his lack of weight by his strength and technique. He also has some quickness. He was on the second all Pac team. Adding some weigh will probably only make him better. Bama would be lucky to get him.
Half the fan base wanted him bench after a rough start. He improved late in the season. But I do think his weight will be a battle throughout his career. If he was indeed home sick, Saban retiring was the perfect excuse. No big loss in Proctor. He gave up 12 sacks this year. The whole Washington Husky Defense gave up 12 sacks. Perspective!
Can he play in the secondary?Whoopdee doo….
He can only have 85 players on scholarship. They may all be jumping ship in Athens when the young girl injured in the accident last spring gets through with them. With all the portal action and players leaving Alabama it's clear to me that players came to play for Saban, not UA.. If the coach is more important to the kids than a university with a great history then I think the clear beneficiary of Saban's retirement is Kirby Smart. With Saban retired who is the best coach in college football right now? Many would say it's Kirby. So if you're a kid who wants to play for the best coach you're going to gravitate to Georgia now, especially if you're a defensive player. I think Alabama can get 5 star QB's and WR's with Deboer but all the best defensive talent in the south is headed to Athens. If any coach ever passes Saban in NC's it's going to be Kirby IMO.
Is that going to go anywhere though? I feel like Kirby is going to start slipping now that Saban isn’t here. He copied a lot of what Saban would dofrom offering players to hiring away assistants. With Saban gone I wonder how is he going to do now?He can only have 85 players on scholarship. Fans are wondering what QB.will leave with this new addition. We'll know soon enough or by Spring. Keep in mind, Deboer knows this kid and vice versa, this could be a security net for Grubb in case the current QBs are slow to learn the new offense. Furthermore, you can never have enough depth at this vital position. Before Buchner and Holstein left, Bama had 5 total. With Austin and Sayin, we are at 5 again.
Jag's Trevor Lawrence and San Diego Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert both 6'6".What a wild build for a QB. He looks like a basketball player
Agree. It wasn`t the University of Alabama and all its tradition that brought all these 4 &5 * kids to Tuscaloosa, it was obviously CNS , who was the GOAT at preparing them for the NFL.With all the portal action and players leaving Alabama it's clear to me that players came to play for Saban, not UA.. Idk but the kid in that picture ain’t no 230 lbs…Can he play in the secondary?
Pretty soon they may not even have to be students.Irrelevant. These guys will be given spots and inserted into classes right up until the end of this 30 day free agency free for all. Both going and coming. Classes are irrelevant.
He's like Brock Osweiler. What a wild build for a QB. He looks like a basketball player
Last season we complained out OL were too heavy…Will we be complaining next season they’re too light?![]()
Parker Brailsford, Alabama Crimson Tide, Offensive Line
Parker Brailsford is a 6-2, 265-pound Offensive Guard from Scottsdale, AZ.247sports.com
He may be the first of many coming to the good guys.
At this point we have no idea what this kid has or will turn out to be, for all we know we maybe signing a kid who ends up being one of the best quarterbacks in Alabama history. There were literally people on this board downing Mac Jones when he was in line to take over the following year and then look what happened. Whoever the QB is, they will be in an offense built to put up huge numbers. Let's give the kid a chance before we start giving him the "whoopdee doo's".Whoopdee doo….
Should have great field vision. What a wild build for a QB. He looks like a basketball player
