Like what? Why do you and others want to get rumors started? There is no evidence whatsoever Saban "Said something" to Simpson to make him stay. I mean..Like what? Simpson has said he loves it at Alabama. He likes the school, and likes learning under Nick Saban. What is it you think Saban may have told him? He's going to start him in September? Not likely. So what, then? Some of Y'all crack me up trying to say, "Saban had to say something!" No he didn't!
WINNER! For unnecessary post of the day! (Mine is a close second.)Cruloc simply made a statement. It was speculation. It happens on chat boards. It is a pretty safe assumption that Coach Saban said SOMETHING that influenced Simpson to stay. You don’t have to assume that though, if you don’t want to. Which ever way you feel, you don’t have to belittle someone for thinking the opposite.

yeah - this could cost us a younger, possibly more talented guy. Haynes and Miller aren't going to want to be #2 and #3 without some real convincing from the staff.
I am of the belief that they will be 1a and 1b next year. JH was like DH. Just has to learn the blocking schemes. Even far more important with a pocket passing QB if that ends up being the case.

Yep, I would think if he came back and did well, he'd be the #1 CB for the 2025 draft.
He’s No. 1 on some teams boards already. He’s very highly rated by the NFL scouts. I guarantee you that is the feedback CNS is getting.

I appreciate TA’s attitude and public comments about wanting to at least meet with CNS and then making the best decision possible.

If you receive a message from CNS to go he has said that he thinks that you will be a 1st Rd pick. I remember him saying Top 15 is his “GO!” Line. If he thinks you can benefit by staying he mentions that too. He’s honest to a fault and the really good players appreciate that almost more than any other quality.

The other factor with TA is his likability. He’s a gold mine and will be a star in the community and beyond for any franchise that gets him.

completely agree, I just hope that Roydell staying doesn't cause one of them to jump into the portal.
I don’t see why folks are so worried about this player or that player running to the portal if a particular player stays with a team. If they don’t want the challenge then you likely won’t want them on the team. You want the Qb spot? Beat JM! You want to be the starting RB? Beat the person in front of you. I hate that folks abandon ship so quickly but who’s to say when the Jahmyr Gibbs or Jameson Williams isn’t the one that takes their spot. Crap ton of talent still there!!!

Leaving soapbox:)

He’s played himself into the first round. IMO he played much better at times than Kool-Aid. I’d like to have him back but honestly, it’s his time to move on

Yep. Pretty much a pitiful state of affairs these days, IMHO. How do you keep a team together in the midst of all of this? Makes me dizzy. Also serves to move me further down the road to not really caring.

How is a coach supposed to scout and recruit HS kids, recruit his current kids, scout kids at other colleges, and try and develop the kids at his own school and prep for games all at the same time???

Well, I didn't want Seth to leave. I just wanted him to fix whatever the snap issues were over the off-season. O-Line continuity is important.
I feel the same about Seth. There were some moments this season where his blocking was too notch (I think he did well in the Georgia game). I was thinking maybe even move him to guard if someone surpassed him at center in the off season/Spring.
