Never said it was easy - if it was wouldn’t more people play the position?
. I’m leaving this thread because people are twisting words to try and say what wasn’t said, for whatever reason.
So you can start researching now, all the CFB centers with SM’s experience, who had the kind of season he just had. I might check back in 2015, that’ll give you enough time to find a handful. Maybe.

My bad on this one. I really on intended of responding directly to you with the first line of my response while the remainder of the post was supposed to be more general in nature. I just did a **** poor job of making that clear. My bad on this one.

For those worried about TS transferring … I’m not too concerned ;) it’s apparently very lucrative to be starting QB at Alabama. LANK doesn’t sound so silly now.

In our 4 losses in the last 2 years, we've been ahead in every one and lost to a 4th quarter drive given up ( either to lose or go to OT)...I want that defense back that leaves no doubt when we have a lead late....

That’s honestly what disappointed me the most about the Michigan game. We had one of our better defenses in years, up 20-13 with 3 minutes to go….and well…total collapse. I don’t understand it..

You must “possess” the ball to consistently end a modern cf game. Good defense just cannot strangle dynamic offenses with the new rules etc. Look how we beat UGA. We really couldn’t stop them when they got desperate. Only solution was to never give the ball back.

Yes, it still sounds ridiculous.

The fact that the brand has 67 pages of items and is less than a year old makes you wonder how much time was truly devoted to beating Michigan and how much was spent expanding the LANK brand.

Again I’m not against players making money and have been for it for some time, but the idea of LANK has been something that I wonder if it has been far more of a distraction than what many are willing to admit.

I can assure you, LANK is being developed and managed by a third party. The players have a business manager who interacts with third parties. They show up for a few photo shoots. Everything else is handled from social media accounts to taxes. They’ll try to promote it casually after games. This is good for Alabama. Guys like TS have enough financial incentive to stay compete, be patient, and try to earn the starting job as a junior (RS or otherwise). Nothing sells more merchandise than CFP exposure after a victory.

The downside is they’re just professional athletes at this point. I can assure you, they’re doing very little academic work.

No more distracting than a few Aflac commercials…

What NFL team wouldn't want a player like that?
Understood. But unfortunately NFL rosters are filled with several players like that. All GMs typically care about is- can they play to win to sell tickets. Judkins has talent no doubt. If he stays healthy he’ll get his shot.

There's about a 0% chance LANK is managed by Milroe. I'd bet my house that his involvement amounts to promotion and cashing checks at this point.

No doubt this was the case. But I do worry about their minds being on their next check rather than fully devoted to their preparation on the field. They maybe there in body but are they fully there mentally? Adults with a lot more life and maturity under their belts struggle with how much wealth and the pursuit of it dominates their thoughts, so I can only assume it isn't any easier for 18-22 year olds.

IF your defense can hold a team to 13 points with 4 minutes in regulation, your offense had better put up some points on the board.

We didn't. We couldn't. Couldn't sustain drives or get into the EZ.

DEFENSE DIDN'T LOSE THIS GAME. OFFENSE DID!

This^^^^

The offense and the self-inflicted mistakes cost us that game. We had four to five offensive opportunities to put the game out of reach and made self-inflicted mistakes. The defense did their job.

Agreed to a point. On UM's last full drive and their OT possession, our defense was AWOL. Completely.

Also, if your defense can hold a team to 17 points and 50 yards below their average in regulation while the offense has 6 three-and-outs (the fumble drive was actually 2 plays), and 7 punts, the defense has done their job!
