Niblack was considering transfer even before Saban made his announcement. He nor Bond probably didn't hear what he wanted to hear regarding Milroe's probability as starting QB next year.

Milroe ain't walking so they are. I think there are a lot of players who have gotten off the Milroe train over the course of the season...

Imo, CKD has to resolve Milroe's status now and not wait until spring practice or we are going to keep having transfer bleed...

I hate the Niblack decision but if his staying is conditional maybe it’s better for the overall health of the team. We as fans may as well buckle up and hold on because we ain’t done yet and there will be more inevitable changes in the spring. This game we love ain’t what it used to be.

His staying being conditional on his getting enough quality touches to play on Sundays seems reasonable to me.

CKD can't realistically evaluate the guys on the roster and make any statement other than "There will be an open competition in spring." Is that what you are looking for to "resolve Milroe's status?"
Really depends on what he is saying to the players. I believe that every QB will get a shot at the job. But some stuff happened this year that has to give players pause.

You have a short window of time to make some hard decisions that have a lasting impact on your program. That's leadership and you have to show you are in charge.

I would have no hesitation in telling Milroe to move on if it was going help me keep multiple skills guys that I need. But I would do it now, and not wait until after spring practice.

He told Thamel that KD called but he didn’t answer
Well good riddance then. Dude clearly thinks highly of himself, so much so that he doesn’t mind burning bridges publicly. As some guy once said, “It don’t cost nothin to be nice”.

He aint much of a coach if he cant look at the film of games and practices over the past season...

I believe and have heard that there will definitely be an open competition and DeBoer will evaluate them with the OC and decide from there. No sources, but I honestly believe that Milroe wont be the starter this year

He's been there, what, 48 hours or more? He will do that.............right now its trying to keep things together and other teams are coming to poach players..........I'd imagine he is working his butt off right now to get things implemented and Milroe will get his day under the microscope. I dont think he will be the starter this year

I think at some point some college is going to have to sue another college for tampering. I also wonder how intellectual property would be viewed here. Any playbook. Any access to anything strategic would be vulnerable.

someone is going to have to put a stake in the ground and take it to court.

the more I think about this, I think Saban left early to be the first commissioner of college football. Maybe as soon as 2025

I was actually joking about this with my friends right after he announced his retirement. Would be wild if true haha.

Okay. Agreed. But I don’t see CKD changing the philosophy that got him the job being loyal to a fault. Hopefully he can convince Niblack back into the fold because he’ll be a huge part of the future.
