Philon isn’t getting a first round grade so I think he’s looking for big money if he’s leaving. I’ve seen that a few places too. If he does leave we are in trouble imo

I hope this is the way it goes down; although, we might need another bigger guard versus Murphy. The kid from Texas Tech (I think it's Williams?) has great size and can shoot the three. He would bring a lot of toughness. I guess the only question is if he could keep up in Oats' system.

Losing Philon would be crucial. Idk if I see that happening with some of the draft grades though. I'd see him transferring for money before going into the draft.

I like Murphy from Mississippi State. He isn’t a huge offensive threat but you need some guys that will do the hard hat work and has proven himself to be up to competition in SeC. He averaged 11 points a game and almost 8 rebounds and is long 6”10 forward. I see him as Mo D type but with more size. Both do struggle with their shot from outside though.

He had 18 points 11 boards and 18 points and 6 boards vs us.

He had 18 points 13 boards vs Florida.
He had 12+ points in 13 of the 18 SEC games and 7+ boards in 12 of the 18 games.

The 8 rebounds per game average is pretty impressive. I’m all for stocking up on bigs.

Agree. IMO, it would signal that Alabama is woefully short on the NIL front, thus likely Oats days are numbered, unless they have something better up their sleeve.

Oats will be at Alabama as long as he feels he is gave the best chance to field a top notch team. He will have his pick for where he can coach each offseason, and some of them are "blue bloods" that put money on the table for him and his recruits. Why would he stay somewhere where he is not afforded the same? He won't. We either give him a competitive advantage or we will watch him on someone else's bench or in the NBA.

I expect their to be some parameters set up in the next year or so to try and get a more level playing field.

I've been out of town and out of the loop for a couple of days. Seems news has slowed to a drip.

I saw a note about Stevenson hitting the portal, but has that been confirmed?

Still on word on Reid or Philon's future?

And if Stevenson is gone, was Bowen his replacement OR do we look to add another big long 3 or 4?

One other question, what the portal window at the current AND when this one closes when does it open again before next season? Just concened in Philon leaves when we'll be able to find another PG?
