I remember the ncaa reprimanded Oklahoma once for giving a player "extra" spaghetti. Team had a spaghetti dinner and he got a second or a third helping and no one else did.

NCAA seems to have zero chance of winning any court hearing.

The NCAA is appealing. Which will be heard in a Mississippi court room. I'll bet that decision will be handed down next February sometime.

I do have an honest question, though. Why didn't he declare for the draft in this weak QB class?

Actually Oklahoma self reported it as a joke. Then the NCAA accepted it and made the players pay it back.

True, and unless you're Patrick MaHolmes, based on size and ability which he's not, just don't seeing it work, but like you said some nut will probably draft him

I think the NCAA just appealed this to try to show that they are still boss. I don't think they were very convincing.

Are you basing the above strictly on his size? I can easily be wrong, but every time I have seen him play the kid looks excellent.
That said, the NFL is obviously a totally different situation.

I truly believe that the reason NFL scouts were a little dismissive was because he only had one year in D1 football. People forget that he came into the program as a post-Spring addition. Meaning that he wasn't around for any meaningful system learning until May 2025. And he started the season as a backup, potentially never really seeing the field since Austin Simmons had been the starter-in-waiting for a couple years already. When Simmons went down early, I figured it would be a long season for Ole Miss. Yet Chambliss came on strong from out of nowhere.
