On Al Jezeera this afternoon, Iran officials claim they have a new anti aircraft weapon, but didn’t give the origin. That was supposedly the weapon that shot down the F15, also the one that hit the F35.
The news anchors were mocking Trump’s claim that all radar warning systems and anti aircraft weapons have been destroyed, but there was speculation this is a shoulder fired weapon.

Likely had an mechanical issue and the pilots had to bail out.

It was likely not shot down because we now have C-130's and Helos flying as part of the S&R package that are at lower altitudes than the F-15 flies.
