It’s a pushback from those who are framing this war as if Iran is somehow winning, or that it’s a draw.

And the pushback is a pathetic attempt to redefine on how the US is "winning", by trying to minimize the impact of Iran's control of the Strait of Hormuz.

The closing of the Strait has impacted the world economy, including the US.
It's not really closed, Iran is only allowing certain ships through.

Trump has offered a military escort through the strait.
That failed quickly.

Trump is begging/demanding other countries to get involved to open the strait.
That has failed.

How come we do not hear about Israel helping to open the Strait?
Oh that's right, they are too busy bombing Lebanon and Gaza.
Almost feels like Israel said "thanks for helping us bomb Iran, we out."

To play devil's advocate, Iran has shown that Trump is a lunatic who is willing to kill innocent people to get what he demands. We have had weak leadership from the POTUS position in terms of brute force for quite sometime. We have had the military capability to demand or "bully" yet most of our positions have been to throw money at people and pat them on the back. I'm not arguing for how Trump has handled this situation but if anything it may change how some countries deal with us. Whether you like Trump or not, our military carries a big stick and that in and of itself matters.

We blew the Hell out of Iraq and Afghanistan, lost nearly 8000 servicemen and servicewomen in the process, countless others maimed. Not to mention the tens of thousands killed and maimed in collateral damage.

Where did it get us. I'm not arguing with you, but I'm just making the point that we can blow up a lot of stuff, and yet not get very much in return. We didnt' learn that in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan.....and now in Iran.

They both sent troops - if the draft were in effect it wouldn't matter who had started it.
