Trump policies X

  • Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family from all of your fellow TideFans! Be safe and be blessed!

WELKER: Inflation has gone up. It's at 3% now up from 2% in April when the tariffs were imposed--

BESSENT: No, no no no. So, inflation hasn't gone up. The one thing we're not gonna do is do what the Biden administration did and tell the American people they don't know how they feel.

lol. Gaslighting is a feature of the Trump Administration. Are people still falling for it?
In the South, yes.

Sean Duffy: "Dressing with respect -- whether it's a pair of jeans and a decent shirt, I would encourage people to maybe dress a little better which encourages us to maybe behave a little better. Let's try not to wear slippers and pajamas as we come to the airport."

Every day this administration further proves that it is the dumbest in our nation's history.

Amen to this. As someone who travels quite frequently for work I am continuously amazed at what some people will wear on an airplane. For the guys it's some disgusting dirty workout gear and flip-flops (which they inevitably take off as soon as they get seated). For the women it's either workout gear or some other "sexy" clothing that leaves nothing to the imagination. Keep in mind these aren't Victoria's Secrets models either. It's really depressing. People take no pride in their appearance any more.

Now you're just being prejudiced against the "differently clothed." You're literally Hitler! *Runs off to cry in the closet.*

But seriously, the term of the day is "enclothed cognition." Scientists created this term as a recognition that what we wear does, in fact, affect our mental processes. In some situations, it can actually impact cognitive ability. Of course, what we wear doesn't just affect our own thoughts and feelings, it makes a bigly impact on how we are perceived by others. Not that this means much to the average do-nothing consumer, but for the rest of us, how we are perceived is very important.

A judge in Georgia on Wednesday dismissed the historic racketeering case brought against President Donald Trump over his efforts to overturn his loss in the state’s 2020 election.

The ruling by Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee, who ordered the case “dismissed in its entirety,” draws to a close the final criminal case against Trump that remained unresolved after he won back the White House in 2024.

McAfee’s ruling came shortly after state prosecutor Peter Skandalakis moved to drop the case against Trump and his remaining co-defendants “to serve the interests of justice and promote judicial finality.”

This isn't really a policy topic, but I didn't think this needed its own thread.

West Virginia’s governor said the Guardsmen were members of the state’s deployment to Washington. The police said one suspect was in custody. President Trump, who is in Florida, said the attacker also had been shot.

I felt that the majority of the Trump lawsuits were not a great idea. I felt they were high risk / low reward / often on shaky grounds and would cause his base to deify him and double down on defending him.

And that is exactly what happened.
And those of us who saw this coming a mile away were mocked. Turning that guy into a martyr was a stupid idea; I said so then and still say so now. Lawfare did help Trump get elected. Every new attack saw his approval numbers rise as a result.

This board is a good example why neither the conservative or liberal version of libertarianism will not work as functioning government. We all have opinions on other people's behavior and give of us a little bit of power and we want to correct everybody's behavior but our own...

Gupta: It’s clear that there’s age-related cognitive decline. His response to somebody fainting in the Oval Office really conveyed that — he was slow to respond, and that slowness and fatigue you’re seeing more and more in his public events.

He’s confused a lot. He sometimes mumbles sort of incoherent nonsense when he’s asked a question in the Oval Office.

Clearly they’re not getting MRIs just because, because that’s the moment that we live in. There’s a reason — they’re worried. And frankly, as you piece this all together, there’s reason to be worried based on his public performance.
