This has bothered me for decades now, but I'm starting to understand why no one wanted to do anything about it. There seem to be some slightly upset people talking about this. I admit that I'm out of my element with the tariff discussion, but as a non-professional, our trade agreements sure didn't sound like good ideas to me.
For the most powerful country on the globe, I don't understand how so many "deals" we've made over the years look like the other party had all the leverage. But it doesn't take long for me to get to the answer. Our politicians at the time didn't mind putting our country on the wrong end of deals if they're getting their personal bank accounts filled up.
