After the Ocoee flood which happened when they were reconstructing the flume, all the PortaJohns were overturned and taken down river. There was a brown stain downstream from each. I took one look and just said that I wasn't getting in there. Nevertheless, many did and there were masses of infections, some of them really serious...

in 1999, i got a nasty (hospital for 3 days after multiple days of 103+ fever bad) case of leptospirosis that I’m pretty sure came from the potomac (great falls area)

Actually, Edward Gurney, who was elected Senator from Florida in 1968 used "make America great again" to become the first Republican elected to the Senate from Florida since Reconstruction.

Reagan actually had it in the 1980 Republican Party platform:

Bill Clinton used the phrase when he declared his candidacy in Little Rock on October 2, 1991.

But sure, folks, Trump invented it.......he just copyrighted it and grifted a bunch of morons.
But only trump has the silly red cultish hats.

Every dictator has an alternate reality they try to enforce as a means to keep their grip on power.

Trump has divorced himself from reality and morality in pursuit of power. He has broken laws, bankrupted companies, raped children, all without punishment. He has taken the power of Congress is taking the power of the Supreme Court and commands the power of our military. His next step will be taking the power of the people, our vote.

The only thing that will stop Trump is his own mortality. Not enough people recognize this and see what is unfolding.

actually, a handful of gop politicians could pretty much grind this to a halt if they were so inclined.

but they are not

Trump was always going to insert himself into this deal. Anyone that thought otherwise hasn’t been paying attention for the last year. Netflix will now have to pay WB and Trump, or Trump will funnel the deal to his friend Ellison.

Just more law breaking from the Epstein Administration.

It’s funny, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandon was just on The Town podcast saying he believed Trump would not make this deal political. He pushed back when Matthew Belloni disagreed. Ted is an idiot if he really believed what he was saying.

ELECTION 2026: VOTE GOP IF YOU WANT THE TARIFFS BACK!

let’s see if the democrats can manage this.

narrator: the democrats couldn’t manage this

Sadly, I have no faith in the Democrats to NOT screw this up - and this is a breakaway layup.

They need a party chairman and a Senate Election chairman to drive home strategy:
- affordability (this is an excellent issue, it's the economy under another name)
- less safe due to ICE shooting citizens dead
- "I'm for voter ID as long as it's free, government enables it and pays for it, and we implement it in (say) the 2028 election after a period of time for everyone to obtain one"

On this last one...Trump has tried to make it an issue. I've never been able to understand Dems don't just simply make REASONABLE accommodation on it that they know the GOP will never actually do. It's almost like 30 years of "any form of voter ID is by definition racist" was a terrible long-term strategy.

The Dems could absolutely clean house this fall - so long as they don't fall for the distractions. (I don't think they have a prayer in Texas for the Senate unless Paxton upsets Cornyn.....but a wiser strategy might have been to run Talarico and then flood the GOP primary to make sure Paxton won the nomination. Just my two cents).

that people have to be properly "convinced" to vote against the current idiocy is a damning indictment on our society/governance, imo

You're not wrong by any means.

But then again...there's almost never a positive payoff in the GOP for OPPOSING Trump's mindless gobbledygook, either. The few persons of character who take a stand and face election (Liz Cheney) more often than not lose. Georgia has been a notable exception - and even those guys ran right back to the shelter of "oh well, he's the leader of the party."

President Trump was not surprised by the incident. "He's insane. ‘Insane John,' we used to call him," the president told the media after the conference. "He's a loser. He doesn't want peace, so he threw a stink bomb to try to stop our beautiful meeting. It smelled like rotten eggs. But it always smelled like that when Bolton was around. I think he has intestinal problems. Many walruses do, from what I've heard. It's sad."

TRUMP STEALS THE SHOW with Hilarious Speech to TEAM USA HOCKEY After GOLD

(on You Tube, but cannot link)

Kash Patel holding up his smart phone to the team and face timing with Trump, who says he's going to send a plane to bring them to the SOTU address on Tuesday night. "I want to shake the whole team's hands but REALLY want to shake the hand of the goalie!"

The team going crazy.

Man if this happens.....it will be EPIC! :)
