That's some terrible writing. As I noted earlier, it's written to say Herbstreit is leading the meeting, but I'm pretty sure they mean Tua.I agree, but there were direct references to Herbstreit about the meeting. However, going back through and looking at the sentence structure and other aspects, you may be right.
This has been my point since he hurt his hip. Most NFL players never see a 2nd contract - and that includes QBs.A lot of experts keep saying Tua shouldn't worry about his first contract as much as his second and third. That he should come out even if he's projected to be a low first round pick. But, what if that's his only contract? There aren't any guarantees in life. The difference in money between a top five pick and a bottom five first round pick could be approximately $25 million. Guaranteed money is what's important and Kyler Murray's was $23 million in the 2019 draft. Not sure what guaranteed money is for a mid first round to a lower first round pick. But maybe Tua is thinking he wants to ensure to get enough on his first contract that he's set for life if there's not a second one. It's a cynical way of looking at it. But a very real possibility.

And with his injury proneness, he may believe he won't be able to play long enough to get the second contract.A lot of experts keep saying Tua shouldn't worry about his first contract as much as his second and third. The last Alpha dog seniors I remember were AJ and Barrett. Maybe I'm forgetting someone, and if so please remind me. The thought of having 3 or 4 senior leaders on both sides of the ball makes me giddy like a school girl. What's it like having seniors playing meaningful snaps? Someone help me because it's been so long I've forgot.
AJ was just a Jr. that year. 2012 might have been my favorite team at Bama. Beating ND in the NC game was the perfect ending! The last Alpha dog seniors I remember were AJ and Barrett. It's a message board. We're all guessing . . .You think that going later in the first round would be better for him. You are guessing. Most NFL players only get one contract.
Participating in Senior Day doesn't cost you eligibility...I thought I read that Lewis was going to participate in Senior Day activities. Did he not end up doing that? If the SI article is correct, look out!
I've known the author of the SI article for over 25 years. I can vouch that, if he's writing that's what he's hearing, then that's accurate - he's hearing it. He's not the sort to make something up out of whole cloth. Now, to what degree it turns out to be true, who knows? There's over a month for them to stew over which way to jump...OMG!!!!!!!
Can you imagine if Quinnen Williams would have stayed until his senior year? What's it like having seniors playing meaningful snaps? Someone help me because it's been so long I've forgot.
This would be like waking up from an awesome dream and then realizing that it wasn’t a dream!!!! I have my fingers crossed!I've known the author of the SI article for over 25 years. Yup and they won the CFP. Remember when Jonathan Allen came back? Was it two years ago that a couple of Clemson's D-lineman came back and it surprised a bunch of folks?
David Carr and Matthew Stafford might disagree with that.Tua cannot risk the draft with this latest injury. I think any first round grade will seal his decision. The NFL is also sooooooo conscious of protecting the QB that most teams who truly need a QB would be willing to take that chance.
Think Cincy will take Joe Burrow but Tua will be next unless his rehab is disastrous. If that’s the case he likely won’t ever play again.
Unpossible, the truth-seekers have spoken, there is zero chance anyone comes back because it's never happened before and all any of them care about is money.Yup and they won the CFP. Remember when Jonathan Allen came back?
