Would love to see a great comeback story. But the concussions and other injuries left him looking like a shell of his former self last yr. I know Miami was bad, but I saw several of his 15 interceptions. Many didn’t look like physical mistakes. Just throwing to the other team .

I've seen posts on X saying he's competing with Penix for a starting position. I can't believe there's much to this. I know Penix is coming off an injury, but was under the impression he's on track to start this year.

Tua is a possible stop gap starter for a few games until Penix returns from rehab. Both are left-handed so there will be offensive continuity. At least that's some of the "expert" speculation I've seen and it rings good to me. Probably @ 6 games...if the OL can protect him.

He needs to hang it up... He is almost certainly going to develop neurological issues down the road already.

I understand he is a competitor, but dang, sad to watch him destroy his brain.
Yup. Start whatever therapy is available now to hopefully avoid the worst later.

I just don't see how anyone could suffer the number and type of brain injuries he's sustained and not have it seriously affect you later in life.

No, not according to Atlanta sports radio, Tua is the starter, Penix will have to win the job back when healthy. 9 months post third ACL is not long enough for Penix to recover. Maybe about week 4 Penix maybe will start, Depending on Tua’s play . Penix didn’t exactly set the world on fire before he was injured, excellent opportunity for Tua to regain a starting NFL job. Let’s see if he learned from his mistakes , and learns to read defenses and throw the ball away . Still has that same problem.

Is the offensive situation any better for him in ATL? How good is the OL and the WRs?

I’m not saying it’s better, he does have big targets though, unlike Miami . Everything there was speed. And now has a good running game. The Atlanta OLine is smallish and getting old. It looks like Stefanski is employing what he had in Cleveland the last couple of years, QB soup . No real franchise QB. Stefanski also got QB’s hurt a lot in Cleveland, so maybe/probably not the best situation for Tua and his long term health.

Really a lot of offensive weapons for him in ATL. And playing in a dome. And a better defense.
