While watching ESPN coverage of the US Open tennis tournament just a few minutes ago, one of the announcers during the match, Brad Gilbert, referenced Bama's beat down of the canes. The other announcer said that one of the tennis players was rolling now. Brad said, yes, like the Crimson Tide rolled over the Hurricanes yesterday. The other guy responded that Bama's second string would probably have rolled over Miami too.

It's just amazing to me that people in all walks of life are paying attention to our beloved Crimson Tide. Those of us that are old enough to remember the days of wandering in the wilderness (also Bill Curry's walk in the woods to decide if he wanted to remain our coach), can really appreciate coach Saban. I hope the younger generation appreciate the special time we have now.

It's natural that greatness in a sport attracts attention from people who may not normally watch it. When Tiger Woods became the dominant force in golf it suddenly made people watch who had little interest in golf before. Nick Saban has perhaps already set a record with 7 NC's that nobody will be able to break and I believe the Alabama football dynasty will be the last dynasty among the major sports I"ll see in my lifetime, perhaps the last anyone will see since the forces in charge of sports are constantly trying to end such things and have a new champion every year. We really need to savor the moment while we can.

Am listening to a radio show on my way to the gym. The host just went on a ten minute diatribe asking how college football, and the SEC especially, allowed Alabama to become so dominant.

Stat on the radio or tv this weekend mentioned the number of losses in the last 14 years. My son is fourteen and was amazed. I wanted to explain multiple loss seasons, bad losses, etc. but he has no concept.
Hoping it’s a few more minutes until he sees it. I don’t want him to get excited about beating teams with very few wins. I know those have to be played, but don’t over celebrate. Don’t storm the field. I have 1 leg but I can push a toddler over on a playground.
