Basically, if you can just stay on the list you stand a pretty good chance of getting the most votes.
He got a ton of votes when you could. They seem to rotate candidates, I suppose as a way to keep from it becoming a popularity contest, once they fall by the wayside. I think he was removed once he got suspended as wasn't a serious candidate any more.
