Be careful of this guy: http://cgi.ebay.com/ALABAMA-CRIMSON...ryZ73401QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

That 'BC12' is supposed to be Brodie's signature. Brodie has NEVER signed with just his initials, as anyone that collects Bama autographs knows.

Here's what a real Brodie sig looks like: http://cgi.ebay.com/ALABAMA-CRIMSON...ryZ73401QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

And notice both sigs are from the SAME guy! Sorry I know a lot of you don't care about autographed stuff but I just can't stand when guys try to cheat other people like that, I mean could that be more obvious?!?

Good looking out! Everyone here should take the time and post a "Thank You."

He's updated his page with a reason for the "BC12" sig.

for all of you who had the privelege of reading some bogus post on a bama forum, this is for you, i recieved this autogaph from brodie croyle, that you see here, at the team hotel, saturday morning, brodie was on his way to mass, that they have every morning at the team hotel before they travel over to b.d. stadium, rougly 3 hours before game time, he signed autographs for about 8 or 9 people and passed over about 20 folks because he was running late for mass/chapel, he proceeded to sign my football for me, as i caught him speed walking down the hallway, he reluctantly signed the ball for me, because he was late, and had an awesome case of bead head, very quickly as he did others, with a bc 12, the hat that was sold earlier tonight, was recieved after a practice where brodie was slowly walking to his car, after players have signed so many autographs at one time, the autograph tends to look sloppy or rushed, why in the world would the autograph look the same as if i stood in line for 5 hours,, waiting for brodie at fan dan in the spring, versus when he has a gatorade and note book in one hand, and signs a football that i am holding, very quickly with the other,, i will continue to provide awesome bama autos for you tide fans, and i hope this explanation is satisfactory, if i was going to fake a brodie croyle, wouldnt i sign it in a less rushed, more elaborate manner? thank you for your time....

Sorry I didn't want to get a big controversy started and it looks like several of you have gotten emails. All I wanted to do is bring to everyone's attention how the top signature looked suspect to me. While the guy is right that a player's signature can look different when they are signing and walking, I've had Brodie do that for me, and so have other collectors I know, and he has never signed 'BC12' for us, he has always signed his full name. That was the main reason for posting this to begin with, because I have never seen any other seller with a Brodie Croyle signed item where Brodie signed it with just his initials.

Just wanted to let everyone see how the signatures from the same seller looked different and let you guys decide for yourselves.

I guess I'm way out of touch, but the whole idea of hounding people for autographs and then selling them on Ebay smells bad to me.

Brodie Croyle deserves some privacy. He makes himself available to sign autographs because he represents Alabama Football and the University of Alabama; and because he just happens to be a wonderful, caring person. To take advantage of that for profit seems low and unsavory from where I sit.

He needs to back to school and learn about grammar.

His enture post is one big sentence with commas, like this, its crazy, why do people do stuff like that, i dont know, but he surely did, ok ill stop now, no seriosuly i will, ok im done,

Yeah, hounding someone on his way to a spiritual service(especially to profit $), shows a lack of good character and I give this guy zero sympathy on this issue. Sorry but these players are not in the business of helping scammers EBay businesses flourish.

Maybe Brodie intentionally signed it with a vague "BC12" to lessen the value for this jerks merchandise? Probably not, but it's a thought. :)

Be wary of buying autographs from someone you dont know. I have collected quite a few over the years and have gotten bit more than once. Now I buy only from a few folks that I know and have confidence in.

When someone says they have a " certificate of authentication " that is BS. Anyone with a printer and a word processory can make one.

Not saying this one is a fraud, you can use your own judgement for that.

I've decided...

to close this thread, because all that has been said is both accurate and enough said. It would be easy to draw conclusions, from appearances alone, which might, in the end, not be accurate. However, caution has been advised, so every one can reach his/her own conclusions...
