WCWS - Let's Roll BAMA

Briski has it right now. I don’t see UCLA or Tech beating her twice. But out of the two I would prefer UCLA. Too many bad memories of what Sandercock doing to us in the same situation in 21 to want to face a dominant pitcher in the semis. But I don’t think it will ultimately matter with how Bama is hitting while having dominant pitching

TxTech or UCLA... I dunno which one I want to emerge from their battle to face Alabama. Perhaps the one with the weakest pitching staff... whichever team that is? Granted we beat them once, but UCLA seems like they have a full lineup of .400+ hitters, which is troublesome. Thoughts?

I think there are trade offs with each. Texas Tech’s SP Canady is probably the more dominant in the circle (compared to Tinsley with UCLA) but UCLA has the better hitting lineup top to bottom with more of a long ball threat.

I think it boils down to what type game you want - one where you win 3-2 or 8-6? 😂

The problem with Tech is that they can hit too. Canady gets alot of the press but what’s not often talked about is how since regional play they have only scored less than 8 twice. Their pitching didn’t get them to OKC it was their hitting. The Florida supers were huge score games. However, what concerns me about the potential matchup is Canady getting her spots right and us forced to play catchup. Basically she is good enough to make another Sandercock game in which we had two games to work with but a dominant pitcher picks one night to get hot and turns everything on its head. I just don’t know if Tech can turn it on so I’m not near as worried about it, but again I wasn’t worried about FSU after Montana threw a perfect game vs UCLA either so…

UCLA to me is the more strategic matchup because our hitters have seen their ace, and they have yet to see Moten. Plus they have struggled vs dominant pitching this year and I’m not convinced that they can hit Briski well enough to make a difference. Jordy absolutely destroyed UCLA this year, they got her once but the other 2 times their bats went silent vs her. I just don’t think they could beat our pitching twice. So I prefer this matchup over Tech

It's only the 2nd inning between UCLA and Tech, (aka the best team money can buy), but it looks like we will be facing Texas Tech. It's 3-2 Tech, but they have the bases loaded with 2 outs. UCLA's lack of pitching is showing as they just walked in a run. UCLA gets out of the inning, but this one might be a free for all before it's over. I'd rather face UCLA, but that is not looking promising right now.

I've been back and forth on it myself, and I'm also leaning towards preferring UCLA at this point. The thing about Texas Tech is that they're hard to kill. Ole Miss was up 8 on them in the regional with 2 outs and 2 strikes in the bottom of the 7th, and Tech somehow came back and won. That's not a team I want to face in this situation. I lean towards we'll probably be fine either way since we only need 1, but I think I'd rather face UCLA.
