I can't express how important it is that we have a good crowd, and LOUD crowd Saturday night. We have at least one very important recruit that will likely be in attendance. Let's all come out and support the team!

I also want to point out that our RPI rating jumped from 176 all the way to 88 this week. We can make the ncaa tourny this year if we keep winning. So come and join the fun and help make Bama a football and B-ball power.

We have tickets for all the remaining Saturday home games. So, my crew will be there doing our part. Looking forward to seeing this team in person. RTR

Correction: Alabama's RPI as of today is 126. It's on the rise, but we're not in the top 100 yet.

With that said, I'm excited about this team, and I'm glad to see our fans are jumping on board. Looks like we'll have a great crowd for the LSU game.

OK, I went back and checked. The USA Today, Wednesday edition (yesterday) post the Sagarin RPI ratings and Bama is listed as 88. I believe this is what the ncaa uses.

Sagarin's ratings that you are referencing are not the same as the RPI ratings. The ratings that you are pointing to are composites of two of Sagarin's ratings (ELO Chess & Predictor). ELO Chess is fairly close to the RPI because it does not take into account margin of victory. The NCAA may very well utilize his ratings, but they also use the RPI.

If we beat UT, UGA, Vandy or UF (preferably 2) -- we have a shot at getting into the dance, even with 10-11 losses, if we go 11-5 or 12-4 in conference. 11-5 would make us 19-11 heading into the SEC Tournament, 12-4 would make us 20-10 --

We also need Providence, Seton Hall, Okie State, Purdue, and Iowa to win some games and get their RPI in the Top 100 - to help us with our SOS. Actually Seton Hall upsetting Syracuse at the Carrierdome raised our RPI about 7 spots in one day!

Thanks. Did not know.
