Dead period - not permissible to make in-person recruiting contacts or evaluations on- or off-campus or permit official or unofficial visits.Spot Dailey said:It would be against the rules for anyone to "reach him" in this dead period. If somebody's trying to push him toward Red Stick, there should be a definite hand slapping handed out.

Former Port Barre All-State defensive back Chris Keys, who committed to LSU on March 9, said that he is now undecided and will make official visits to Alabama and LSU in January.
"Those are my top two," Keys said. "I'm not going to make a decision until after making those visits. A lot of it will have to do with my family members. After that I'll know for sure."
Keys attended North Jackson High in Stevenson, Ala. after he was expelled April 28 from Port Barre High for an on-campus arrest for possession of marijuana. Keys said that he developed a greater admiration for Saban who never revoked his scholarship offer throughout his ordeal.
"Coach Saban wasn't only the head coach, but he was the defensive backs coach as well," Keys said. "When I was there in the summer (camp) he was the coach that worked with me. He's a great coach. Then when I got into trouble he tried to help me and supported me so that I could get my life on the right track. When he left that's when I started thinking about Alabama."
I agree with you. Someone else said that they have a quote from him saying the he was making visits to both...well, there are also quotes from him saying that he committed to Bama after Saban left. And - since when did espn give Bama any credit for anything?JessN said:Personally, I think there's a good chance ESPN is working with old quotes here.
As to whether we "have him" or not, I'd say it's about 60/40 that Alabama does. I don't think it's ever been higher than that, either. He's got a situation at home not unlike Tommy Trott or Wes Brown, where family members have strong feelings about both schools and are pushing and pulling him different directions.
Once he gets back to the state of Alabama after the holidays, I think there's a good chance he firms up for Bama. The people he's staying with in Alabama are strongly UA-friendly.
Is that a guarantee? Not in the least. It makes it doubly tougher whenever the kid is from out of state, no matter who it is.
And $.02 is about what it's worth. I will give anyone a second chance. It's when they don't take advantage of that second chance and make the same mistakes over and over that I have a problem.Gman4Bama said:Keys attended North Jackson High in Stevenson, Ala. after he was expelled April 28 from Port Barre High for an on-campus arrest for possession of marijuana.
