Weather thread, Part III

And yet they In the UK they’re fining some people and demanding removal of newly installed AC units as they’re not allowed under their energy policy… SMH

It's the same logic as California and New York raising the cost of housing with God's own list of regulations, requirements, permits, studies, studies, studies, investigations, etc., etc., then decrying the price of housing and the death of the American dream of owning your own home.

For the life of me, I don't understand how the Democrats plan to make "affordability," their campaign issue when the bluest states are also the most expensive.

Never had it there, that I remember. It was 1957...

Didn't have AC in the classrooms at Tuscaloosa High School when I graduated in 1977. Most legacy buildings on the UA campus didn't have it in the classrooms, either. The administrative offices of both THS and most UA colleges, however, did.

we got ceiling fans installed in the school my 7th grade year ('81-'82), and they installed window units in all of the classrooms a couple of years after.

Well, Beaufort, SC, almost did me in back in mid June. Heat index of well over 100, grandparents seated first in an outdoor wedding foulup, which left me sitting out in a hot dry wind for 1.5 hours. I spent the night in the ER with heat exhaustion and dehydration...

Dated a girl from Beaufort back in the 80's. She was really nice. I wish I had worked harder to keep us together. Just very stupid in those ways back then.....

Our kids have a place on Fripp Island, right off Beaufort. That was the reason for the selection of the wedding venue, which appeared to be run by amateurs. There used to be nothing there but a supermarket, but it's really grown...

You should have let me know...I could have rescued you...I'm only about 45 minutes from Beaufort up Hwy 17. We looked at some places there to retire...could have saved a lot of money but our grands were up here.
