What a CRAZY year so far...who would have thought?

This is one of "those years" in college football. All the "locks" for the NC are unlocked, except for maybe Boise St. Iowa St beat Texas after being beat by 120 pts the last two games. Notre Dame is slipping more and more into irrelevance as teams circle their games with them a "W". There seems to be a "#1" curse. My beloved Gators are a pitiful team, poorly coached, 4-3, and still in control of their destiny in the east.

But, if I was to tell you in the beginning of the year that your game with Auburn would feature a top 2 team vs. a top 7 team, with one team being undefeated and featuring a Heisman candidate, who would have thought that team would be the "barners", as you put it?

Oregon vs Boise St is gonna be a fun NC game to watch....

Yea, I have to agree. The Boogs do look good.
I will say this.

If Aubarn and Boise State play in the BCS game, I am moving to France, changing my name to Lowie Holtzenberg, and never watching ESPN again.
That's pretty much the nightmare scenario. Not you moving to France, but the Barn in the NC. :D

The Top Ten seems really strange, no Texas or Florida to be found. Notre Dame is finding just because you rule the Big East does not mean you can put Humpty Dumpty back together again (see Michigan for instructions).

Its def becoming abundantly apparent this year that any team can be beat by any other team any given saturday this season...no one really seems dominate.

See, here's the thing, it may be fun for some, but how many will watch? How will its ratings compare to last year's BCSCG? Seriously, who will care?

Most will consider this a lost season, like the year when GT and Colorado split the national championship. No one cared - except about arguing that crowning either was a joke...

I disagree. How many years now has Boise St and others cried about being undefeated and shunned out of the NC game? Well, this is their year....put up or shut up. I think the entire country wants to see if Boise is the best of second tier teams that whines alot, or can they perform and compete on college footballs biggest stage!

Against Oregon? Sorry, put up or shut up doesn't apply. Since when is Oregon representative of great college football?

Most will watch that game like a WAC game, with curiosity - but watching while doing something else, TV on in the background.

The average college football fan will not care that the BCS championship hangs in the balance. They will not be on the edge of their seats. Why? Because neither will have accomplished enough over the course of the season to gain the average college football fan's respect.

The BCS needs to hope for a better matchup than that, or they risk becoming an even greater laughing stock.

Could be...but I think most folks are tired of seeing the Florida, Oklahoma, Ohio St, Texas, and Bama match ups every year. It might surprise you and get great ratings.

They can and will. I think most folks are tired of seeing one loss teams jump teams like Boise and TCU just because they are from a tougher conference. Not saying its right, just saying I think alot of fans and media are ready to see these teams have a shot. A one loss anyone should not bump Boise or TCU this year...the outcry would be unbelievable.

If Auburn beats Alabama (gag) and the east's representative in the SECCG, they will be number 2 at worst in the BCS poll. Boise's only hope is for Auburn or Oregon to lose.

I said Auburn would win out a couple of weeks ago and people (even on this board), thought it was heresy. Cam is probably the best college football player in the past 5 years.

I had projected Alabama to beet an undefeated Auburn team in T-Town. Unfortunately, I don't think Alabama has what it takes up front to stop Cam. LSU had the best shot with their talented line and couldn't get it done.

I think Auburn plays Oregon St. for the National Championship. What a offensive showcase that will be. If I weren't an Alabama, fan, I'd be giddy at the thought.

My lord, they're certainly due. They haven't won one in 53 years. And it wouldn't be the end of the world. Most of their relevant players are seniors and they will be in major rebuilding mode next year, while our young team will be even stronger.

But one thing has to happen for them to get into the BCS game. They must beat the strongest team they will have ever faced in Tuscaloosa - by a wide margin. We may have to beat them 42-35 in a shootout, but I'll take it. However, don't underestimate Saban's ability to shut down (or slow down) a one man show, like Auburn is. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if we beat them 28-14. And I'm sure that as concerned as we are about Cam Newton's running ability, Auburn is just as concerned that we should be able to fairly easily torch their secondary for 400 yards if we choose to. I can't wait. It should be a great game, but in no way am i concerned that Saban won't have our boys ready. If Auburn is undefeated and obviously in the MNC hunt, it'll be even easier to get us fired up for them.
