Since Awbarn finished ahead in the recruiting ranks has anyone been lurking their boards to see how many were glad they finished ahead of Bama? Cuz you know they're not concerned with the quality or where they finished just as long as it was ahead of Bama. I guess that's why they're called the "Boogs".

Personally, I don't pay much attention to what Auburn fans happen to say... I do think it's ironic that AU fans often are belittled for always focusing on what the "Bammer" fans are saying though. ;)

Auburn finished ahead of Alabama in Rivals and Scout only because they had room for a lot more commitments. Bama was higher in both in Avg Stars per Commit.

Bama also finished higher on ESPN.

Listen to Finebaum and get you an ear full of it. It's pathetic.
Yes, you are correct. You would think the barner men have finally grown their 3rd leg they have always wanted. They are as giddy as giddy gets. But, we do have to be honest and admit that they do have an outstanding class ON PAPER, just as we have had for the past 4 recruiting classes. However...we will see how that translates on the field.

What we do know is this:
1. They won 5 straight to start the season last year
2. They got hammered by Arkansas
3. They barely beat a mediocre Northwestern team
4. They have a top 3 recruiting class

What will probably happen next year is this:
1. 8-4 season
2. Malzahn is gone. You can print the t-shirts right now. Especially if they finish better than 8-4.
3. Trooper Taylor will have rotator cuff surgery from waving that snot rag.
4. And last but not least, there will be a 3rd beat down waiting for the Boogs in t-town which will place one foot up on the hot seat stool for Chiznik.
5. We cap it off with another top 5 recruting class with talent across the board my friends. ACROSS THE BOARD.

The Finebaum barners don't even see it coming yet. I love it.

I had only seen ESPNs rankings and auburn finished one below us. There's a Huge difference in what happened today really. Auburn's top 5 haul was a surprise and unexpected, celebrations were had all across the little house on the plains... Alabama's was not, it was just business as usual.

IMO the biggest factor in Auburn's surprise recruiting class was the fact that Georgia was hurting. Not having a DC and an almost Lame Duck HC had a big impact on recruits.

So let the barn celebrate their Top 5 class. We'll just chalk up another one to the growing year in year out Top 5 column. :biggrin2:

My barner cousin, and I will hear this over and over...

"how great is Saban now, OUTRECRUITED IN HIS OWN STATE...IN HIS OWN STATE. How great is he??"

over and over.

and it is a pointless conversation to have with him.

He is the prototypical barner.

Could care less what they think or some recruiting service has us ranked. All I care about is that we got tons of talent in this class and oh yea....a National Championship ring on our hands. Go get one of those Auburn and then come talk some smack.

Alabama outrecruited Auburn within the State of Alabama. Also, if Auburn only finished ahead of us in Rivals, that doesn't count, since according to the Barn we didn't finish #1 the last two years because we were only ranked #1 by Rivals. They just don't get it...

The true test will be to see if AU can do this consistently... rather than being a one-year wonder. If they can, we will congratulate them for doing well and will look forward to our rivalry return to being annually competitive once again... and if they can't, it will remain one-sided.

Bama is doomed, they have taken over in the football world, Chizik has the best coaching and recruiting staff in the world, Bama fans are scared........that is just a fraction of what is being said.:)

The barn got three 5 star recruits (one we could have had earlier) I would like to have gotten but I wouldn't trade overall classes with them. CNS is a great talent/character evaluator and meticulous planner......he recruited to needs and has the team in a position to reload every year without the painful "rebuilding".

He is a national champion. I know, as you say, it is pointless, but that trumps everything to me.

Congrats to Auburn on their fine recruiting haul. Now they must put it together where it counts - on the field.

Well first off Awbarn did not finish ahead of Bama in the recruiting rankings. Bama finished ahead of the barn in both the ESPNU and Scout.com rankings. The barn finished ahead of Bama in only the Rivals.com rankings. You should ask the boogs what they are saying about that. This would be the place to ask what the Tide Fans are saying. Most of us are saying we are very pleased and happy about it. ;)

Bama is # 3 and the barn is # 4 in the ESPNU team recruiting rankings.

Bama is # 4 and the barn is # 5 in the Scout.com team recruiting rankings.
