What does CNO do with the portal this year???

I'd also love to see Allen play the point more next year and think he will need that experience if he wants to start one day in the NBA.
YES! I've mentioned this a time or two! I think Allen's NBA stock would explode if we ran him at Point next year as the primary PG.

He could slide to the 2 or 3 occasionally, but he's got the skills. He need polishing, but we ran him in the 1 several times this year.

He's a match up nightmare with his ability to get to the rim but also to shoot the 3.

He needs to shoot about 1000 threes a day and add a little more muscle. If he does and we play him at PG, imagine how big of a lineup we could put on the floor?!?!

I think Dusti May has been on record to say Bama did contact him.
This was discussed in the pre game conference. Both Alabama and Michigan were "late to the party" so to speak but that obviously didn't matter.

Oats discusses Yaxel at 15:40 mark

May discusses Yaxel at 7:34 and 10:00 mark

Hopefully, CNO will look at a European player or two, preferably two that play the four position or one four and a five. We desperately need rebounding and defense help.

Why do you have Jemison so low? Surprised at Bowen confidence too, just didn’t do great at any one thing, like a slightly weaker Stevenson. Injury prone too.
Jemison is going to be courted. Bol Bowen won’t. And I think Nate loves the kid. And believes in him. Remember how well he played at St John’s. Just a gut feeling

I just want a dominant 5 or two and sherrell back so he can play the 4 like he should be. Other than that I’m open to whatever haha. I’d like Holloway back but it won’t hurt my feelings if he’s not. I trust oats to figure out the 1-3 with spare parts. Let’s REALLY spend money on the bigs this year

Unless some new evidence comes out on Holloway, I think he's done. At least at Alabama. I'm all for forgiveness, second chances, and redemption. But sometimes the second chance and associated redemption have to come someplace other than where you fouled your nest.

Yes, he's a great shooter. Still, as others have said, he's a liability on D. If you score 20, but give up 6-8 points than a good defensive player wouldn't have, your net contribution is 12 to 14 points. That's not irreplaceable. So is it worth putting up with the reputational issues to get that? I don't think so.

I'm mostly concerned about keeping Sherrell. He's really developed nicely over his two years in Tuscaloosa. While he's at least a year away from being NBA-ready, I promise other college coaches are salivating with lots of money burning holes in their pockets.

My guess, with no inside information whatsoever, is that Sherrell and Allen will get a healthy chunk of the new pay-for-play money that kept Oats from seriously considering a change of scenery.

I don't understand how to interpret Instapics, but this one goes against some of the very things CNO has said we need to do: get bigger/stronger.
If coming back I hope he commits to the weight room and cuts out the effort issues. CNO tweak this year may be to have a stronger weight program.

I just read that Oats has announced his engagement to a former staff member. I didn’t even know he was divorced but apparently it happened in 2023.
