What happened to Gene Jelks?

Don't get me wrong, I am not a fan of Gene Jelks. Gene had life by the tail until he threw it all away. Does anyone know where he landed? Just wondering what line of work he was able to find. I don't expect to see him running out the game ball at home games any time soon.

Interesting what a search of past posts indicates also. :wink: Probably the fact that Jelks was featured on the "game in history" today had something to do with the question. It was an Ole Miss game in the mid-80's.

This question would better answered on a AU site. Barn boosters had more contact with him than ours ever did. Call in Finebaum next time Pat Dye is on, I bet he knows where Jelks is.
