I really like Star Jackson. I'm the most concerned about WV just because he is very similiar to pat white in his mobility but SJ is a much better passer.

We've had many a thread over QBs this early recruiting season. We have scratched Gabbert and Luck. Manuel will be an extremely tough pull, and I don't think we can do it.

Star Jackson is probably the most likely right now. WVU will probably be the toughest competition, with the note that he will be making several SEC visits, including Bama, so any SEC school could sneak up. However, he does have a good relationship with CMA.

If I was a QB who wanted to possibly play in the NFL one day, I wouldn't go to WVU. Sure, they put up some big numbers, but Pat White isn't going to be an NFL QB. Also, I don't think WVU is great at developing a passer, either.

I'm not sure with Andrew Luck not having us in his top five. EJ Manuel is hard to guage, but I think we are still in it right now. Star Jackson is definitely a possibility, and I believe Saban is high on him. However, I have heard that the staff has another QB higher on the board. The source is realiable, but did not say who it was, just stated that Star Jackson wasn't it. I'm not sure who that leaves.

D.C. Jefferson?
Casey Kelly?
Tyler Smith?
Jacory Harris?

It's a long time between now and Feb. and many QBs will come and go between now and then, one thing I'm pretty confident of however is that in the end we'll wind up with a good QB.

E.J. Manual - I personally like this young man. If Coaching Staff can bring him onboard that would be a huge plus for the program and fans. He could put on about 25 lbs. easily. :BigA:
Personally, I think he's going to end up at Florida State. Jimbo Fisher has helped produce some pretty good QBs. He worked with Jamarcus Russell throughtout Russell's four seasons in Baton Rouge. So, that will play a big part in his decision. Not to mention he has some of the same basic measurements as JR had at that age, save, the enormous weight of 230 as an 17 year old QB. LSU could sneak in there, but as long as Perilloux is there, I believe that will leave top QBs, like Manuel, to look at other options. Not to mention a new OC that has not coached or recruited east of the Mississippi River before. North Carolina will be a big player, especially with Butch Davis and the distance factor. Kids often say it doesn't matter, but it does for most in the end. Miami is in there, but I don't think he'll head to South Beach. That leaves Tennessee. I think they will be there till the end with him. As far as Alabama is concerned, I think we can work on him. If he visits that will really get us in with him. But still, I think the staff may be looking at other options right now, because Florida State is the frontrunner for now.

How many FSU QB's have been great in the NFL? Weinke didn't do much.....Manuel needs to come to Bama where Applewhite will mold him into an NFL QB, plus Applewhites offense will explode with passes from here on out. We need a strong armed QB and Manuel fits the bill!!
