What if the Big Ten isn't all that and a bag of chips this year?

What is the excuse for Tennessee losing to Illinois? Discounting the Alabama vs Oklahoma game the only SEC win is a mismatch Ole Miss beating Tulane losing four. The BIG is six and one. Based on the bowl games Indiana will boat race Alabama. I hope our best teams are as good as their best teams.
are there any excuses now for the B1G?

I’m not trying to toot my own horn but I kind of saw Ohio St losing. I was shocked by the 10 point point spread. Miami may have the best front seven in football and when Beck is on it’s hard to get him off. I have felt Alabama and Miami are the two teams no team with a bye wanted to face because they have so much momentum and anger going into to face a team in the quarterfinals that had to wait 25 days to play. Everyone at this stage has loaded teams so the idea that prognosticators and the betting public are treating these games like regular season games is beyond ridiculous.

I think if I’m an Indiana fan I’m alarmed by 3 things… 1) the outside distractions in the past month 2) the fact that Ohio St just got bullied and 3) the fact their own coach said that they had a bad week of practice. Indiana deserves to be the favorite but I asked the question the day the rankings came out…. “Can either Ohio State or Indiana take a punch that knocks them to the canvas in a season defining moment”. Alabama has multiple times so has Miami. But Ohio State failed. Indiana might run us out of the stadium like everyone says but can Indiana survive a half that totally goes against them tomorrow?

I may have said I would laugh if the got blown out, but I picked Miami in this game.

Tennessee had 11 players opt out.🤷🏻‍♂️ Bench players don’t opt out. As CA said, they quit the team.

"The Big Ten is good because Indiana is undefeated and Ohio State has only one loss!"

All that REALLY happened is this:
- Texas started the year #1 and wasn't THAT good
- Ohio State beat them and became #1
- they beat some piles of garbage along the way
- they beat a semi-decent Michigan team with a coach learning his pass plays from Dr. Ruth
- Indiana beat Ohio State
- and Ohio State is defending champions

That's literally all that happened.

There are five ranked teams in the B1G (excluding the Buckeyes).
They didn't play 2 of those teams and went 2-1 against the other.

Maybe Big Ten teams have trouble playing indoors down south in December.

Maybe we need a new thread -

“What if the SEC isn't all that and a bag of chips this year?’

We can constantly bring up opt outs, etc but that’s just excuse making.
The SEC has pretty much stunk up the bowl games this year.

NIL has been a net positive for the rest of CFB but a negative for the SEC?
Only conclusion im having at this point. It is perplexing.
I’m looking at it from the point of view that if these other teams got them as three stars, they are hungry to prove that they are better than the higher star players. These higher star kids may not be as tough because it has always been easy for them and they have always dominated others during their early You have to have a coach that can get them dialed in week after week.

I think you are spot on.
We havent been a motivated team in some time, and its really shown the last couple of seasons.
Seems like they get on campus and they have arrived.
