What if we didn't play Georgia State and only played eleven games?

I don't think this would effect our strength of schedule.
Gives you another week to prepare for Auburn as well as the rest.

Do you have to play 12 games?

What if we were in the national title hunt, I can't see where playing this game would help Alabama out in any capacity, but keep you from resting up and preparing for Auburn.

Playing Georgia State was great. I hope we do something similar every year. It's worth it just to see the walk-ons and backups get to play. I was so happy to see Ezell taking snaps at QB. I don't mind if it hurts our SoS. We're in the SEC, that's enough for the computers as long as we win 'em all.

There is about 4 or 5 million reasons to play the 12th game.

I can see it as far as playing players who don't get to play. Other than that what would be the purpose.

I'm looking at this from a strategic standpoint of having an extra week to practice against your rival as well as a very good football team. And if we were going to the SEC Championship game this year or future years it gives you another week to heal up players, and prepare for that game as well.

Knowing that this game will not effect the SoS than this game is unimportant. Next year is another game of unimportance ( can't recall who the team is), and you have a bowl game to get players ready for the following season as well.

Just throwing this out there. See what others would think if you werre the AD.

The money is to good not to play the 12th game. Why would you want to shorten our season anyways? We want all year for 12-14 Saturdays. Please dont take any of those away

The media would have a field day with it if we didnt play all 12 games.

"WHY SHOULDNT BOISE PLAY FOR THE BCS TITLE? AT LEAST THEY PLAYED ALL 12 GAMES!"

You get the idea..

Shoot I wish their was a way for us to extend the season to about 14 regular season games. I know the reason we don't play past the SECCG time is because of the end of the fall semester/test etc. But I hate the month between the end of the season and the bowl games. i think last year it was 30+ days between the SECCG and the BCSNCG.

I would just love for Bama football to last longer every year!!!

playing GA ST was like a scrimmage, plus it gives the opportunity for everybody to play.there probably wasnt alot of time spent on them in practice or film room. also gives a big confidence boost to the players and not to mention the revenue generated.

I don't care what the media thinks, others in the media who would see it are way as well.

Our SoS after eleven games compared to Boise SoS playing twelve, Bama would still be stronger.

You'll get extra time of practice for a bowl game. You point about the confidence boost, I can see that for the inexperianced players. But perhaps you would get that as well from extra bowl time practice. How much revenue is generated, I saw alot of empty seats in the upper decks.

It was still sold out though. It helps the GSU budget too.
