What is Alabama's all time record against Ohio St.?

I live in Ohio and other than 14 championships my best ammuntion for obnoxious Buckeye fans (yes, that is redundant...) is Bama's all time record against OSU. I thought the Tide was 5-0. The only website I could find that referenced it said Bama was 3-0, with the last meeting in 1986....then went on to mention the 1995 score so clearly it is wrong.

Can someone point me to the info?

I have memories of Sherman Williams maybe having a big game in '95 bowl game and of Derrick Thomas and back to back pass interference penalties at the end of the 86 game.

Thanks for the help!

I cant find anymore than three games they played against each other. That was in 78, 86, and the 1994 citrus bowl. Alabama won all three. Another interesting fact I found is Ohio States record agains the SEC in bowl games is 0-8!

Looks like I'll have to 'settle' for 3-0. True though, unbeaten is unbeaten! Not sure where I got the 5-0, must have been a good dream!

Ohio St. did beat Arky a couple years ago for their first bowl win against the SEC. Course, they had to use players that should have been suspended but hey, that's life.

This article references the back to back PI penalties on Thomas at the end of the game. I remember wanting to throw up about that time: http://collegefootballbelt.com/1986/1986%20Game%20Summaries/Alabama%20vs%20Ohio%20State.htm

Interesting box score, Shula at QB for the Tide and Cris Carter at WR for the Bucks

I suspect the Tide and OSU will be seeing each other again now that Meyer is in Columbus.

Thanks for the quick answers, I can sleep tonite now!

I don't think it's that good. I think they've lost at least 9.

As an OSU alum, I know this one. Bama is 3-0 against the Buckeyes - 35-6 in the 1978 Sugar Bowl, 16 - 10 in the 1986 Kick-off classic, and 24-17 in the 1995 Citrus Bowl.

Alabama is undefeated against Ohio teams, including 3-0 vs OSU, 5-0 vs Cincinnati, and 1-0 each against Bowling Green, Kent State and Ohio University, I believe.

I believe OSU is 1-10 in Bowls vs the SEC- 0-2 vs Bama, USCe, and Florida, 0-1 vs UGA, AU, LSU, and UT, and 1-0 vs Arky, which I believe they had to vacate.

By the way, although my degrees say Ohio State, I'm Bama all the way. My license plates read "BAMA NO 1". And it's a great time to be a Tide fan, even (especially) up here in Ohio.

You're right Toledo Tider, they did vacate the Arky win so indeed technically they've never beaten an SEC team. It had been painful to listen to OSU fans up here until last year, and with Meyer it figures to get painful again soon. But, at this point we have scoreboard in both titles, recent titles and all time record.

Not far from you by the way TT, down near Fostoria.

Didn't they beat Arkansas with all those ineligible players the NCAA allowed them to play with??

Yes - the hogsters lost to OSU but I believe they had to vacate the win because of the sanctions on them that means it didn't happen so OSU is still O'fer against the SEC.

If the Buckeye fans get too painful to listen to, remind them that it was CNS that ran Meyer out of the SEC.

To be accurate, OSU hasn't won a bowl game (other than the vacated Arky win) against the SEC. They have won 7 regular season games, but three of those were against Vandy and three were against Kentucky, relatively unimpressive in any era. They went 1-0-1 in home and home series with LSU in the 90's.

Can you tell I've had to present these facts to Buckeye fans before?

Actually, I live in BG, so we're very close.

Tell them they are 0-3 for Bama, and if they had been any good in the last 40 years, they would have had several more shots
