what's your screen name mean?

Self explanatory. Tide fan, living in Mississippi for almost 15 years.

I started to change by name to TiderinClinton, but...you know...it just didn't sound right. ;)

Re: I can hear the groans now, but

Wow, what a great thread! I wish I had known about Tidefans way back when..

OR

bamanut - still obvious

My pledge name, this is how I am known to my fraternity brothers, though if the name Rick came up, most wouldn't know it's one and the same.

Love to read 'tales' about the 'tide', thus Tide Tales. I often feel like I should change it to 'godmother' because there are so many kids* on here, but refrain - just in case they ask me to cook or something!
*kids = anyone under age 55!:BigA:

a person who has attained prajna, or Enlightenment, but who postpones Nirvana in order to help others to attain Enlightenment

Bodhisattva (or Bodhi, for short) is a nickname that my friends gave me years ago. It's from a combination of my mulitple advanced degrees and my preference for all things Asian. I've lived and traveled throughout Asia. My favorite food is sushi. I love Asian architecture, history, culture, etc. Most of the furniture in my house is East Asian. My favorite girlfriends from back in the day were Asian. My wife is Asian. It's a theme with me.

I know what you're thinking........Marietta Tide.......must have taken that dude hours to come up with such an original name. Actually, it did take a while. As someone said earlier, just about any "cool" name I could come up with was taken so....sigh....I settled for my current domicile. Originally from Guntersville, AL, I graduated from Bama in '87 & have been in the Atlanta area ever since. Been coming to TideFans for a while but just recently began posting. Grateful for the site. :)

I'm sorry for you having to be in that place I know it sucks, BamaBelleinGa, biglittlelittle and I are all from there.

My name as many know me as was bamabound2006 because back in 2003 when I made my TideFans debut I was counting down the days til I could be at the Capstone, then my acceptence, and now my student status so my name seemed kinda silly, but thanks to HSV and the mods they changed my name to BamaArrived2006. The name bamabound2006 originated one day when I was sitting at the computer at my parent's and there was a sheet about Bama Bound for my brother, biglittlelittle, and I liked it so I kept it.
