I live out West, Las Vegas. I am going through beverage withdrawal. I make my own sweet tea. But I can't find Mello Yello anywhere and it's driving me crazy. Any help from anyone else out West would be great.

mill1991 said:Mello Yello gets high marks for me because of its rich, full-bodied flavor. I admit it also wins some nostalgia points, and I am probably acclimated to its taste due to all the Friday nights of my early youth I spent chugging the stuff. My dentist says it is better to drink diet soda, but if I have to drink regular soda, drink it fast rather than nursing it over the course of the afternoon. To that, I say, "Bottom's up!"
nathan said:Immagine my chagrin when, after moving there, I learned it wasn't available in New Mexico! I had to drive to Colorado to score any! Nine long years later I returned to MN where it is, thankfully, still readily available.
Two sticky thumbs up, indeed!
Sean said:Oh NO! What is this rumor of Mello Yello being discontinued? I live in Central Texas (Army) where Mountain Dew apparently rules and am considered an outcast. I can only find it in a few vending machines on post and wish I could go back to Georgia, land of eternal Mello Yello, and fly a cargo plane full of the greatest carbonated ever invented. I certainly hope this is a nasty urban legend.
Mello Yello has more sugar and less carbonation. Mt. Dew has a bit more caffeine. To me, they taste very different...Do they have any Mountain Dew? Isn't it virtually the same thing?
Thanks for the idea. Hopefully it's somewhere in this dang town. You could probably call your local Coca-Cola bottler and ask them where to buy the product...
that site is pretty interesting. thanks for the link.Try a Web site www.hometownfavorites.com and select the area "Hard to Find Grocer." They have a lot of old favorites--Mello Yello is listed on their soft drink aisle.
FWIW, the term mellow yellow, which came from Donovan's song of the same title, was suppose to refer to drying out banana skins and smoking the results.![]()
