I like a hotdog every now and then. I’m pretty simple with the condiments, yellow mustard, dill pickle slices and chili (sauce in Ohio). Where is a good place to get a hotdog that IS NOT a chain restaurant?

Gus's....... Still there. Still the same.I remember a place in downtown Birmingham that was a literal hole in the wall. Cannot remember the name. Doubt it is even there anymore.
Never been there, but I see that the little shop first opened in 1947 by a Greek immigrant. I absolutely love venerable mom-and-pop shops. Even better if it is from an immigrant who has embraced the American Dream. Love it!Gus's....... Still there. Still the same.

Quite a few of Birmingham's historical landmark restaurants were started by Greeks, particularly barbecue. It's a fascinating study.Never been there, but I see that the little shop first opened in 1947 by a Greek immigrant.
I go through Daytona periodically on the way to points south. I'll try to remember this place if I'm there around lunch time.If you want one Chicago style and are in the Daytona area:
