Where NOT to sit in B-D Stadium?

I'm going to the homecoming game this weekend, and my two companions and I will (hopefully) buy our tickets outside the stadium before game time. I'll bring a seating map of B-D Stadium with me, but can y'all let me know which sections we should avoid? For example, I assume that high up on the east side is not good because the sun will be blinding us during the second half.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My seats...

are high up on the east side, and, at this time of the year, the sun is not a major factor. The arc of the sun has passed far off to the south (your left). A visor solves the problem, even on a sunny day...

Beware of any sideline seats that are...

On row 20 or below. I'm not sure if row 20 is a good cutoff or not but the lower sideline seats are the worst in the stadium unless you want to watch the game on the Jumbotron.

For the last 5 years, I've stood on the sidelines...from personal experience, I'd have to say that it is AWESOME!!

I'd avoid anything upperdeck. That's because I'm afraid of heights and the seats are 'steep'. Every where else is good. I've enjoyed sitting eveywhere, but I personally enjoy sitting far away from the opposing band, especially if we start losing ;)

As others have said that's not true! Our seats are on row 18 and we have friends in 16 and 17 and we sit on the sidelines and they're great seats. Anything below 10 is a major if move depending upon how close you get to the middle of the field. If you're in the endzone, as low as you can get is fine...if you're on the sides, get up to at least 10 as was previously written.

I think the 10th row is a good cutoff. Above that you will be able to see pretty well. I like seats 30 to 40 rows up though because I feel I am high up enough to really see well.

I must disagree with the poster that warned you against upper deck seats. The upper decks are great. You can see everything and, when compared to the likes of LSU, UT, UGA and others, they are not steep at all. Now, if like the poster claims to be, you are afraid of heights, by all means, avoid the upper deck. However, lacking that particular phobia, Upper deck seats are great. As others have suggested, I wouldn't get anything particularly low on the sides. During various seasons over the years, I've had seats on rows 1, 4, 6, and 7. Rows 1 and 4 were terrible. Row 6 was almost bearable and, of course, 7 was even better. I'd say 8 or above would be fine. Given the choice between anything lower than 8 or upper deck, definitely choose upper deck.

The 2002 Tennessee/Alabama game was amazing. Breaking that 7 game winning streak and listening to Rammer Jammer boom through Neyland Stadium 12 times was one of the highlights of my college years.
