Re: Which Juniors will leave early for the NFL? Press Conference at 2 Friday 1/15

Amazing to me that Allen received a second round grade.

Totally agree. Kiper has Allen, Ragland, Reed, and Robinson as first rounders. It's hard to say who's more accurate, which is why I've heard people say if you grade out 2nd round or better, you should probably enter the draft. Stat on Finebaum says that if Kiper is right, the this would be the third time in modern draft history that 4 defensive players from the same school are all taken in the 1st.

Maybe Allen ends up declaring...but if he doesn't, I think he can help himself. I just don't get how he had a 2nd round grade...maybe the ESPN talking heads are inflating him a bit and the NFL scouts see some more concerns?

Hmm he looks like the truth as a player to me. I would love to have him back but just don't see any way he last till the second. He can get sacks and stop the run. That is a rare combination.

Whichever way they decide i want to thank them all for what i believe was the most impressive National Championship team of them all. A real TEAM in every sense of the word. Great job guys!

E-mailed my brother in law about Allen. He lives in Ashburn (where Allen is from), followed him since Jr High and has friends whose kids played HS ball with him. This is what he had to say about him:

"There are no inexpensive homes in Ashburn or anywhere in proximity to Stone Bridge HS. My buddy was on the chain crew for several years while Allen was there we live around the corner), his kid was the punter and kicker on the team (Marroquin), and said Allen was a gentle kid. I guess when you are a great player, and can break everyone in half, you can either be a bully or kind.

Living in a great area in many respects, knowing you are eventually going to a great college of your choice, knowing you will eventually be going to the nfl, motivates you in life to succeed in school, get a degree and then go make tons of money. "

Obviously nobody but Allen knows but the vibe is the college degree is more important than the NFL.

Allen would definitely be a great leader for a team looking to maintain the mojo from this season. I have to imagine he would be an enforcer in the vein of Jarran Reed this year. In fact, I think Robinson-Reed-Allen were already very much in that shared role this year.

I believe aliens second round grade has as much to do with this being a very loaded class of d lineman already. Meaning some god d linemen will be second rounders. Next year should be a thinner class and gives him a better shot to b a first rounder if not a top 10 pick.

I think Rueben, will become the next Alpha, and improve his status if he stays.

I also selfishly hope AJ Howard might stay to improve his status and give the new starting qb a great target!
Yup..SIAP..I haven't read all of the post in this thread, but, I saw this stating Foster is hinting about coming back for his senior year & he posted this on Instagram..

Fantastic news. C'mon O.J. Come on back for one more year. I will be absolutely stoked if Allen comes back.

For DH the decision must have been easy given his production this year, wear and tear on the body, and the short life of NFL running backs. However, I can't remember a more recent year when we had a bigger drop off in RB due to attrition, graduation, declaring early, etc. The potential is certainly there, it's just unproven. We certainly need a strong running game to be successful.

There was literally nothing else King Henry could accomplish. Save for trying to equal Archir Griffin

While it's more of a question mark, I think we'll be OK. I expect Scarborough and Harris to improve greatly and be a reliable combination. It does feel a little weird, though, as the past 5-6 years, we've always essentially had known entities coming back.

Foster needs another year to prove he can stay healthy. I'm afraid once the NFL doctors start looking into his neck injury issues it will hurt his status. Knock on wood though it seems like that is behind him. He played without the neck restrictor this year which is a good sign.

The next week or so will speak volumes about how difficult the rebuild will be for CNS next year. If Allen, Foster, and Howard stay in addition to Williams and Jackson, it would be huge.

All signs point to Foster returning. Allen and Howard, I believe, are the real ? marks at this point - especially Allen. I figured he'd be for sure gone.
