Doesnt look like anybody is, according to their commish Dan Beebe. My understanding is that Mack Brown doesn't want a conference championship game anymore, and what Mack Brown wants Mack Brown gets, it would appear. And, why should they go back to twelve teams and make every other team's slice of the financial pie smaller again? By doing what they did, the Big 12 basically allowed itself to be taken over by Texas, and they will now be less important when it comes BCS time than the SEC, Big 10, AND the new PAC 10 conference.

The Big 10 also said they would not add a team for 12 to 18 months... I think they will add teams if possible.

After Texas almost lost last year's Big 12 Championship Game (and should have), I see why they don't won't that game anymore. They just want to wade through their cup-cake conference right on into the BCSCG every year.

It would be idiotic for the Big 12 to add more teams. There aren't any big time schools left in that area that would add a large significant TV market. Any Texas school wouldn't bring any more money and that is just another member that they have to split up the money with.

Maybe Texas is simply taking a cue from Boise's generous treatment by the media. With Texas' name brand, surely that'd give them the extra grease to slide right into a #1 or #2 ranking regardless of strength of schedule.

I never understood Texas and Oklahoma in the same division. I know, the Red River Shootout and all that, but with Texas in the South and Oklahoma in the North they would have played most every year in the Championship game anyway.

I vote LSU and Arky to the Big TEXAS Conference. Then we could put Missouri and Va Tech in our league. Then Big TEXAS would have to add another to replace Missouri, but maybe they could get Wyoming or some other patsy like they like to pad their league with. We'd have to probably then pull Kentucky into the west, but that's OK. It would make our basketball better.

I say all this in jest, since the whole topic of realignment is ridiculous.

Phew I had already hit the quote button when I finally read your last sentence. I was about to think you had gone crazy and was wondering why you would want to get rid of LSU. Funny post though.

TCU makes the most logical sense. TCU replaces OU in the South Division, Houston replaces Oklahoma State, 6-6 North and South. All of the south division are Texas schools.

North

Oklahoma
Oklahoma State
Mizzou
Kansas
Kansas State
Iowa State

South

Texas
Texas Tech
Texas A&M
TCU
Houston
Baylor

From the looks of it, Texas could make they're own dang football conference. and prolly should. to match they're over sized ego's.

I like this and mentioned the same alignment many threads ago, but the fly in the ointment is Baylor. According to one of the many thousand of posts over the last 30 days it was mentioned that Baylor would vote against TCU's admittance. There seems to be some old hatred carried over from the SWC days. I think the conference holds at 10 since I am sure the Horns don't want to have to play TCU now that they have proved to be a respectable team and Houston is also improving. Quite frankly it won't work because it makes too much sense.

I did mention this as well (TCU & Houston) back when the Big 12 was still on life support as a means to "save" the conference. Now I have since changed my mind and think nothing will happen for about 5 years. In 5 years the Big 12(-2) will die completely.
