A Barner came by me today and said, "It is great to be an Auburn fan." I stopped him and asked "why is it great to be an Auburn fan." He said "because we are not Bama fans."

I said, "no, I am serious. I hear that all the time and I want to know why it is great to be an Auburn fan." He looked puzzled for a few seconds and said, "well, it beats holding up a roll of paper on a stick."

So I said, "well, I know why I like being a Bama fan. 13 NC's, 22 SEC Championships, a bunch of Rose Bowl, the Grand Daddy of them all, wins. But why is it so great to be an Auburn fan? Please tell me."

He just looked at me for a little bit and finally said, "words can't describe it." Then he beat a hasty retreat.

So, this poll, (since barners don't seem to know) I thought we could help them decide the question.

1. We are not Bama (but we would like to be.)

2. We don't know, but it sure sounds cool.

3. It is a cult thing.

These damn Auburn threads are more annoying than the motocross ads that take up the entire freaking page every time it loads. Both are making me want to start visiting other sites.

Please don't lecture me about the off season. I've been here, visiting this site much longer than you. I've never seen so much discussion of Auburn, and I can't believe we're seeing even MORE of it after we just won the National Championship.

Whoa, kemosabe. One sentence does not a lecture make.

It's been pointed out on here, by several, that the current incarnation of Moo U is a bit of a curiosity. Mind you, I don't think it's going anywhere for the Barners besides towards colossal disappointment. They'll be wanting to jump off a cliff in Novemeber.

As far as the increased Barn related talk, we really don't have much to gripe about, which is a lot of what people do on fan sites. Nothing ups the post count like turmoil or a prolonged coaching search. You're right about you length of time on TideFans. I yield to your vast experience...

There's really no way to make TF an Auburn-free zone. Well, maybe, if we could nudge them over the line into Georgia. Unless they give up FB, they'll be talked about here and elsewhere...

After all these years of futility, you'd think they would've given up by now.

I'm telling you, they've got to be masochists. :biggrin2:

I agree with the above post.
I believe they think it's great to be an Auburn fan because of all the toilet paper they get to play with!

Here's an idea - if the thread is about Awbarn, just skip over it!

As far as why it so great to be a Barn fan, how 'bout dem "moral victories"?
