We

a. Have their ex-coach, who went on to win national championships at the 2 schools he coached after MSU

b. Their ex-coach stole the best recruit they had a chance to get in a long time, who went on to win a Heisman Trophy (mark ingram for those ill-informed)

You might have a point on b, but regarding a, I don't think they hold it against us considering after MSU, CNS went to LSU, then Miami before making his way to Tuscaloosa.

Also...I'm sure even MSU fans probably know CNS most likely wouldn't have won a national championship there.

No, I grew up in East Lansing and and still pull for the Spartans (when they aren't playing Bama), and I can tell you they still HATE Nick Saban and most of them think the entire SEC buys players (including Ingram).

I think it will be similar to Ohio State playing SEC teams in the recent past. We win.....impressively.

Those I know are really good people, a lot better than UM folk. My nephew's FIL is a MSU grad and an occasional golfing partner of mine. He mourned when they lost Saban and, when, Saban ended up at Bama, he just accepted it as fate. You get the feeling they're accustomed to being downtrodden...

40 years of mediocre football will do that to you. I am in the camp that feels Dantonio is the right guy for the job in changing the culture and the program. Beyond Saban and missing out on Ingram, I really don't dislike Bama any more than the rest of the SEC. My hate is reserved for scUM, ND, Wussconsin and occasionally Iowa.

Well i hate Mich., & OSU, but i've allways been kind of a closet MSU fan. They're the only school i pull for in the big Eleven.
I guess that's why i like 'em, because of my hate for UM, & OSU.
Should be a good game.

Welcome to the board, Casey. My roommate at Bama was from Michigan and most of his friends ended up at State. Just one clarification, scUM for you is Michigan, right? I have to ask because I know Nebraska and Kansas fans that refer to Mizzou as the same and I live in Florida and plenty of folk down here say the same of Miami.

Thanks, and you bet. You will also see plenty of references to WalMart Wolverines (or Walverines, for non-alum fans).
