So many seem really pessimistic about our chances in 07. Are we that weak at DL and linebacker to lose 3 home games? I just can't see 5 losses with 3 of them at home. It could happen, but I think we are going to have to give up 25+ points to lose to anybody.

I think that the SEC games are the ones to focus on. We could lose to FSU, but this one will not be vital to our season. We will not have a lot of automatic wins, but I will not pick 3 home losses. Perhaps UGA will get us. Certainly LSU can and even Arkansas will not be a pushover. I really just can't see UT taking it to us. Of course I hope we get the AU monkey off our back.

I think what Bama has going for us this year is that we are developing quality depth. It isn't what it will be, but it is so much better already with the quality coaching that we have.

So what do you think? I think that we could hit 10 wins, but I am pretty much an optomist. Hwever, no noe should discount the quality coaching and offensive talent we will bring to the table. If we can make it undefeated in the SEC going into the LSU game, who knows? Perhaps some of the better teams played late in the season may have a little less motivation.

I will say 10-3. Who knows who the 3 losses will be against.

I think 8 or 9 wins is reasonable. We have some tough games on the schedule...even if some of those tough games are at home.

I didn't want to get into the number of wins this early. I wanted to wait until the first game has been played.

However,I think 9 or 10 wins is a releastic expectation.:BigA: :BigA: :)

Had the question been asked last November, then not bloody likely!

But now, as April drifts into May, it appears the chances of a 10 win season are much better to say the least. :BigA:

I said 9-4. The games in question are LSU, AU, GA, Tenn, and FSU. All of our other games, I think we should win, including Ark, mainly b/c they lost very good talent on D and Darren and Felix can only take them so far. I think we only win 1 of those 5 games I previously mentioned mainly b/c a lack of depth at LB and DL. We can't depend on FR along the line and expect to win a lot. I would be completely surprised if we won 2 of those games. AU, Tenn, and FSU are all "winnable," but it'd take a great performance (near perfect) to win those games.

I'm not even going to discuss the number of wins this early in the season, and especially this early in CNS's tenure as HC. I want to see gradual and continuing improvement over the mess left by previous coaches. The way to reach the top of the ladder is taking one rung at a time. If we concentrate on one game at a time, and one season at a time, we'll eventually return to that pinnacle of excellence to which we all aspire.

I think we will win 8 or 9 games in '07.

The schedule is brutal although we have a favorable home schedule, but I think a 9 win season will be very, very good season for this team. A 10 win season would be nothing short of outstanding. No offense to anyone, but anything beyond 10 wins and you are dreaming.:)

I generally agree with you. Of the three "winnable" games, I think Tenn may be the most winnable, and believe it or not, FSU may be the least "winnable". I expect the FSU defense to be very good, and I expect a fairly dramatic turnaround on offense -- FSU has a talented team and has significantly improved its offensive coaching staff. Of the other games that you mentioned, LSU is a bit of a question mark in my mind. I'm just not sure how CLM will handle the turnover he's had on the offensive side of the ball.

I expect 8-9 wins, but given the energy around the program, I wouldn't be surprised by a cinderella season -- it feels like the energy in the Super Dome before and during the 1993 Sugar Bowl. It's just possible that the fans and the team could "will" a much better result for 2007.

The fans, the team, and the Saban factor could will a better result. I predicted 8 wins, but I'm hoping for a couple of upsets.

9-4!

We'll lose to Arkansas, FSU, UT, and Auburn! FSU will have more talent than most realize, and they significantly upgraded their offensive coaching staff! Unfortunately, Ark, UT, and Auburn will have the personnel and ability to cram the ball down our throats similiar to Minnesota in the Music City a few years ago! The good news is that I think we'll improve over the course of the season, and win a decent bowl game; however, we'll still a ways away for competing for titles!

My Prediction: Overral Record 10-3

Regular Season: 10-2 (Defeated by-- Auburn and Georgia)

BTW: Alabama SQUEAKS by FSU with a field goal... "outplayed by FSU"

Post Season: 0-1 (mid-tier bowl game -- Alabama loses by 4)

LSU is defeated by Alabama but obtains a victory over Auburn sending The Bengal Tigers to Atlanta to play for the SEC Championship...

There will be some very emotional victories this season over Tennessee, LSU and Florida State but The Crimson Tide will once again lose to Auburn @ Jordan Hare Stadium! :(

The 2007 season (when everything is said and done) will end up feeling a little "bitter sweet" above average just like the 2005 season.

In 2008 -- watch out SEC :)

Anything is possible. Alabama could go 10-2 just as they could go 2-10. I personally believe the first scenario is more likely. :biggrin2:

Bama is going to have its hands full with LSU, Auburn, Florida State, and Tennessee. I think they lose these four, but an upset is possible.

Bama will have a fight on its hands with Arkansas and Georgia, but I think they will win these two.

Bama will roll on Western Carolina, Vanderbilt, Houston, Ole Miss, State, and Monroe.

8-4 . . . possibly 9-3 with an upset win. Possibly 7-5 with an upset loss.
