Will CMS ever allow our team to go for the jugular?

Why is it that when we get a turnover and excellent field position we rarely (if ever) go for the juggular? For reasons that escape me, we just seem content to run up the middle. It's fun to watch the offenses of teams like UGA, UF, UT, South Carolina, etc. when they are the beneficiaries of turnovers. Invariably, they go for all the marbles on first down. Am I the only one who thinks that it would be nice to administer the proverbial "hob nail boot" treatment to an opponent?

Please don't get me wrong......I am enjoying Bama's success back atop the SEC and am looking forward to seeing them stay there for awhile. I would just love to see us put somebody away for a change instead of lollygaggin' around with the "three yards and a cloud of dust" mentality.

Sorry...

to be the spelling schoolmarm, but the original thread title made me want to ask "how many balls does he have?" :D Maybe CMS can't find the jugular, but I'm sure he wants to go for it...

IMO we have good offensive scheme.

I know fans don't like up the middle but that is where its at. Its hard to get outside on these fast SEC defenses. Sometimes its there though.

Our RBs...

have a carte blanche to bounce outside if they count more than four DL between the tackles. Personally, I'd hate to have to count that fast, and I've kayaked pretty hairy whitewater... :D

Some awesome first down passes have been right along the lines for going for the jugular, and sweet passes with a comfortable lead are pretty good for that "killer" instinct.

Speaking of killer instinct... seems that is the motto of our Defense.

My only concern was the 2nd and 1 situations. Not once did we go for the deep ball or do anything that was associated with "killer Instinct" in situations that warrant such a chance. But im sure Coach knows what he is doing just the same.

Every play called is designed to score a touchdown. It is up to the players to execute.

the WR's did drop alot of balls

saturday. I think BC was getting more than upset at a few of the drops to wide open WR's. that could be why we didn't pass the ball on 2nd & 1 alot of times.

The coaches do what they do for reasons we DO NOT know - we just don't know what the guys are capable of doing or what has transpired in practices (or has NOT ever gone well in practices when worked on repeatedly). The coaches are NOT out to stump us or purposely NOT do something that would work well...they simply know more than we do & they know more than what we can speculate from what we think we know by observation at games...

Earle said it best above...

I think we'll see a little more of that this weekend...especially if Brodie is on. I think the whole team steps it up against the Gators. This will be our best game, but we'll just have to wait and see if it's good enough to come away with a W.

I would have to agree a little bit. There is nothing sweeter than a turnover, play-action pass to Keith Brown/DJ Hall/Zeke Night sprinting down the sideline. TOUCHDOWN! I love to see that, b/c the other team is on the other sideline going.."we just had the ball one play ago". It leaves them in a state of shock.
