Will the Cotton Bowl win help us in recruiting?

I think it will help us alot more with a big win and going 10-2 then losing and going 9-3 and ending the season on a 3 game losing streak. I think we will close out in a big way this recruiting season.

Don't see how it could not help . I just hope w/B.Spikes preparing for the AASG game in San Antonio that he was able to get a good look . Wonder if he was able to attend any practices ? :conf3:

I have a very good feeling about the remainder of this recruiting class. Yes, I think this win will help some of the "big dogs" make up their mind about coming to Bama. They can see good things ahead for Bama football.

Can't hurt...

I think it might help one or two come back over the top.

As far as Brandon Spikes goes, I don't think it made any difference. He has already decided and the college that has him already knows according to his last interview. He is going to do the silly hat trick in four days.

He will be carrying a Florida, Virginia Tech, and an Alabama hat.

The win yesterday definitely helps us this year (no way it can hurt)... howver, it is also important to realize that an impressive win in Dallas will likely open up recruiting inroads into that section of the country (West Texas, Louisiana, etc.). Also, the fact that it was on television at a time when they did not have to compete with ten other channels of bowl coverage should help too.

Yeah, I think it definitely helps with guys who are on the fence at the moment. Heck, a 10-win season and a top 10 ranking looks a whole lot better to everybody than a 9-3 season with a 20ish ranking.

Also, ending the season with 3 straight losses could definitely have had a negative effect on recruits' perception of the program, so perhaps the most positive effect is just that we avoided the negative effect of a loss.

Hopefully, the victory will push fence-sitting guys like Goggans, Lockett, Hawthorne, or maybe even Whitehead (who is sounding more inclined to staying in-state) toward the Tide.
