And to me, this is the most hilarious thing. That action could paint them into the “criticism corner” this year.

Let’s say FSU loses on a last second FG or OT to Louisville. Then it’s “our regular season body of work is enough and we lost with our backup QB. Like TCU last year, we deserve to be in, even with a last second loss in the championship”.

Or a similar situation with Washington losing to Oregon. Or least likely, Michigan losing to Iowa. And let’s not forget Georgia losing close game in the SECCG to Alabama.”

I’m hoping for some ridiculousness just for the giggles.
You wanna see some “ridiculousness”?
Let Georgia, Michigan, FSU and Texas lose.
No undefeated teams - let the insanity begin!
OK, back it up a little - Michigan wins (most likely), everyone else loses. Only one unbeaten team. Get your popcorn and watch the craziness that ensues.
I have never liked the CFP since the beginning - the only part of their decision- making that supposedly hasn’t changed is that, at the end, they have “the four best teams” in the playoffs.
It has to be the four best at that time - not from week one, week six or week ten.
We aren't even being considered to be moved up until we beat UGA. And even then we will have hurdles. Losing to Texas early and playing as bad as we did for half the season is killing us.
The irony is, Bama beats Tx by one point, all the rest of the “playing badly” would be irrelevant - as it currently is for Washington, Michigan and FSU. “0” in the loss column hides all other shortcomings; “1” magnifies them, for the committee.
“Four best teams”….

This committee only cares about the win-loss record and style points. They couldn't care less about strength of schedule or any other factors.

I was feeling really good about Louisville beating Florida st till they lost to Kentucky. Florida st’s D is legit and if Louisville struggles to stop the run against them like they did ky it doesn’t matter what we do against uga.
I think Louisville was probably looking ahead. They kind of had an outside shot at the playoff before the loss, but I'm not really sure how realistic that was to begin with, so one could argue that UK game didn't mean very much to them.

I don't think the committee is looking at the current ranks of teams when weighing strength of schedules. And if that's the case, we shouldn't even bother with a ranking system until the CFP polls start.
